[FullHD] Last Flight Belavia Tupolev 154 landing & takeoff at Geneva/GVA/LSGG

Here it is... the very last commercial flight of a Belavia Tupolev Tu-154 in western Europe! I thank Belavia for choosing Geneva as the last destination of this wonderful russian heavy metal aircraft!
As you can see, they did a water-salute on the taxi! :)
And you maybe also noticed that I was able to film the takeoff from the Geneva's Tower which is an incredible opportunity for me! Thanks to my friend for that! :D
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my 1st and probably last video of a Tu-154 ! :D

Ps. Sorry for the shakiness on the takeoff, it started to be very windy on the tower....

It was very modern in appearance even for today. It was way ahead of it's time. Look at those 6-wheel bogies. Boeing just started using this design a few years back on the 777 and Airbus just started on their newest 350.

@@rogertycholiz2218 Thanks to the shitty runway infrastructure of many USSR airports. The 6 wheel gear was designed for unpaved runways. And even for icy and snowy runways.

I wouldn't say that I would say robust, tough, powerful and beautiful. It's not that safe because you needed 3-4 crewmen to handle it. So a lot of stress and stress leads to crashes when they can't manage the situation like back then in 2010.

Вообще то летают. Возят на вахту на Север РФ. Иногда чартеры по РФ. В ЕС нельзя из-за ограничений по шумам. Или вот такой показательный: aviator-ru.livejournal.com/573864.html Сейчас Белавиа закупает им на смену Б738. В 2016 купили 2 новых. ЕМНИП ещё есть заказ на 2 шт. Ту уже не эффективны по топливу.

I just adore this aircraft since I've been a child. As my parents moved into Germany, after the fall of the Soviet Union, they took their old VHS cassettes with them and one of this VHS cassettes was "Ekipash", a quite famous movie back then in the Soviet Union, where the Tupolev Tu-154 was present in the second half of the movie. No wonder it was an absolute popular plane back then in the Soviet Union.

Nice video work, the Tu -154 was the first aircraft I flew on, and subsequently flew on ten times , always felt safe, and good seats but noisy towards the back! just needed to put your Walkman headphones or something to dampen the sound and relax, lovely aircraft !!

Yes, I remember the worst noise was in the toilet. It's like you were inside the engines themselves, very distracting from the business at hand, he-he.

love all the older Russian jets! really sturdy and dependable as they have seen so many years of use. its always a sad day when any commercial airliner is being retired or taken out of service. the tupolev has more than proven itself. rob

Be sure this airliner has years to come in domestic charter service, where environmental and economic requirements are far less stringent. It seems in excellent shape. Belorussian brothers are really, really good in maintenance. You should also take a chance to see their diesel locomotives, heritage from the Soviet era. Hardly any smoke at all, all is working like a Swiss watch. Scrupulous people. They take very well care of what they have.

It doesn’t really compare to the 727, it’s way bigger, and more modern on the systems, it has an automatic stability control system, and also had inertial navigation system with gyroscopes from submarines and a radar scanned the ground to correct for the wind drift.

Classic - Tupolev-154M / Ilyushin-62M / Yakovlev-42D much more time will be in Geneva ! :-) There are many airlines from government and the military.

Actually this is the last flight for the Tupolev in Western Europe, because this very aircraft is coming to Burgas, Bulgaria every morning since the 30th of May. So it`s not a retirement flight after all :)

So sad. Now this beautiful aircraft lives only in virtual world. 85748 was the reference aircraft for my model. Thanx to guys from Belavia Airlines, that provided me tons of documents, photos, videos. and even data from flight recorders! So now it flies in the X-Plane 10 Flight Simulator. Yes, some of Tu154M are still in service, but their time has gone.

When i would be a rich ass man i would buy old airliners like L1011, DC10 and Tu-154 and sell historic flights for airliner fans who really appreciate it to sit in one of those birds. Plus it is a great way to keep historical aircraft alive.

Viacheslav Fedorov I know... that was the last flight in western Europe, and the flights that's it's doing are charters I believe so I think that's not really "commercial" ;)
