FMA: Brotherhood is basically emotional cross fit. It'll have you doing sadness squats and love burpees for 60+ episodes, that is precisely why I watch it.

I can't say I am entirely OK, but watching this show you get to see Ed and Al push forward though the mud, and strive for a better life, in spite of all the trauma and sadness. You get to see the indomitable human spirit in action, and that is inspiring, at least to me. It does make me cry, but that lets me push those emotions out when I bottle them up in my day to day life, and that does help.

In the first fma, Dominic knew Pinako (Winry’s grandma ). Apparently she had a wild side when she was younger and scared him, and that’s why he didn’t take Winry as an apprentice

I will advocate for this being a good show to watch when you’re sad. Sure, if you only want to watch happy things, it’s not right for that, but being able to watch characters face some of the worst things they ever could, be affected by them, and then be able to keep moving forward to grow into better and stronger versions of themselves…it’s a story that helps me a lot when I feel down.

The saddest part about Al touching the tummy is that he can’t feel (experience the sensation of touch), it’s him just trying to be normal. If you notice it quick cuts to Ed and he knows Al can’t feel, that is what shocks him out of it. At least that is my theory.

This episode and the very next are in my personal 'top 20' of favorite favorites!! Aside from the undeniable wholesomness, [ episode 11 ] provides Winry further _excellent_ character development, and further, valuable insights into Ed and Al! Oh, and as for [ feeling self-conscious about?...chagrined about? ] being moved to cry, I will offer one of my personal favorite quotes by Gandalf::.. _“.... I will not say 'do not weep'; for not all tears are an evil....”_ 🤍💙🫶🏽💙🤍

12:09 the 3rd guy is someone Brotherhood skipped over. There is a whole arc dedicated to liberating a mining town that this guy was in charge of, which was in the og Fullmetal anime.

They explain him in a flashback in a later episode, which in my opinion works better. It condenses an unnecessary side story into a flashback to give more room to the overall story & far more important stuff.

You have to believe that this show will not do you wrong all the time. While there are many sad things, there are also many many happy things! This show balances things really well actually. It's just like real life. While real life will have many sad and tragic things in it.. it will also have many hopeful and happy things in it. You just have to make it through those sad things sometimes to get to the happy. And THAT IS life.

Death Note is so good! When I first saw Attack on Titan I loved it, but years later when I rewatched it from the beginning again, I was mostly annoyed & bored with it. It's a really cool & interesting idea, but I just hate how they did it, it got way too confusing for me & they hardly ever explain things or give answers to previously asked questions. It drove me insane. I'm not sure I'll even watch season 4 when all the dubbed episodes are out because of it.

Ok I'll comment on this now; I'm one of the (I'm sure many) people who will watch sad things, especially anime, when I myself am having a depressive episode. For me; the exploration and writing of these episodes are an outlet, kind of a permission for me to feel as sad as I am and a place I can direct the feelings. I also struggle to emote fully when I'm in a bad place, and these stories face and resolve these emotions and let me empathise with them. (That's also kind of why I watch reaction channels; you guys display the emotions I wish my head would let me feel while watching my favourite shows). Having shows which go to as dark or sad places as this is just so reassuring to me. I get why you're saying to not watch this when in a bad space, but I just find it so good to do just that. Had to say something. Loving your series reaction btw :)

Honestly actually I think it does help with my depression. Sometimes the show is super sad but it's also something that actually makes me cry for once, it's like a catharsis. I have a hard time getting myself to cry on my own, and I know I need to do it

I mean, I'm not okay. But that has nothing to do with FMAB. There are various themes, plot points, and characters that I find interesting, but talking about that would rapidly veer into spoiler territory. So for now, I'll just say that this show is wonderfully written, animated, and voice acted. That's why I watch it.

I don’t know if anyone has commented this before, but the reason why everyone makes such a big deal about how short Edward is is because canonically he’s almost 16 years old and still only 4 feet 11 inches tall

The 2003 version was so much worse. In that version, Ed, Al, and Nina Tucker were there for the delivery of Maes Hughes’ girl, and he was caught out in the snow. Few episodes later and Nina gets episode 4rd

When happy people try to cheer you up it can feel like you're being talked down to or shallow but seeing a story of where so many people suffer so much but who still *keep* going well it's inspirational, we share in the pain. It's odd medicine but it does help. Humans huh? lol

This is really one of the weakest episodes of this show. Maybe because it's so muc worse than the episode with a woman giving birth from the odl FMA (where it's Gracia Hughes giving birth to Alicia) and that shows Rush valley episode.
