Hey guys, this week I’m reviewing the Fullmetal Alchemist Fullmetal Editions with an inside look of the first volume! During the flip through, I talk about what differentiates these from the other Fullmetal Alchemist manga releases, such as the individual volumes, complete box set, and 3-in-1’s, and my overall thoughts on these editions.
Also, I know I promised you guys an unboxing of Prime 1 Studio’s 1/3 scale Guts statue this week but I have decided to push that back out of respect for Kentaro Miura’s family and friends who are grieving his loss. May he RIP and he will forever be missed ❤️

It really warms my heart to see how many people Miura managed to capture with his story. I’m not surprised someone such as yourself loves his manga but the intro caught me off guard as this is the first video of yours I’m watching. Thanks for honouring the man, he was great

It has really been amazing to see all of the love that others have for Kentaro Miura and I too have been touched to see how many people were affected by his work. He really impacted my life and Berserk really connected with me, so much so that it is my favorite manga and nothing seems to ever compare. But he made such an impact on the manga industry as well so I'm grateful to him for doing that also! An amazing man with an amazing legacy! Thank you too for honoring him!!

Miura’s hits me harder than anyone else’s death. I was fortunate enough to read all of his stuff when it gets released since I live nearby Dark Horse HQ. Even after days later I’m still crying rivers because it feels like loosing a best friend. Thank you for everything you’ve done Miura, May your soul ride on with Skull 💀 Knight in the afterlife...

Definitely getting the fullmetal editions! So pretty. Plus I don’t own any edition and don’t own any manga (been making my way through euro comics) but loved the story from where I left off.

I was definitely interested in these Fullmetal editions back in 2020 and was seriously considering upgrading my single vols. However, the binding issues like you mentioned were definitely a turn off. I also heard problems with the foil embossing on the spines flaking off even if you were very careful with them. I recall reading and seeing some reviews where this was mentioned. Someone I know has these and said the foil embossing was fine initially, but after a few years of handling the books and moving them around on her shelves, she has noticed the flaking recently and she is very careful with her books. So, on the surface these books look nice, but they are not without their problems. I’m glad I stuck with my single vols.

I have the boxset, but since fma is my all-time fav franchise I might pick up the Fullmetal editions as well+ I really want the blu-rays for 2003 and Brotherhood as well but they're expensive...

Definitely benefits to owning both the box set and the Fullmetal Editions, especially if it's your all-time favorite! I just looked up the blu-ray sets and those look awesome!! I definitely see why you want those. Hope you are able to pick them all up some day!

I plan on getting, I think the last two volumes of this edition. Here in Australia, we had this amazing translated version by a company called Chuang Yi. They had sleeves and looked a lot like the Japanese type of manga and I loved them dearly but I missed out on getting volumes 23 onward since they aren't around anymore. :(

Started watching the fullmetal alchemist brotherhood anime sometime last year I started collecting manga last year with fullmetal alchemist volumes 1 and 2 in the fullmetal edition

I'm really interested in getting this, but there is no box set available in my country, only the individual books. I am still wanting to buy them all, but can I just confirm with you that all 18 editions in English are not out yet? I've only seen volumes (for the Fullmetal Edition) 1 to 13 readily available, with 14 and 15 ready for pre-orders. Is this the case?

Hey! That is correct! 1-13 have already been released and 14 (releasing in a few days on August 10th, but looks like it's already in stock on Right Stuf) and 15 (expected to release in November) are up for preorder now. Hope that's of help and that you are able to pick them all up some day!

The latter volumes are especially fantastic as the art is much better later on with more dynamic acting scenes with more characters.

I just ordered them all (volume 1-17). I already have all the Berserk Deluxe, Colossal Attack on Titan, Blade of Immortal Deluxe, 35th anniversary Akira and Blame! Master edition + my childhood collection of Dragon Ball. The only other manga that i have interest for is One Piece but im not sure if i should wait for restock of the box set.

As much as I love the premise, the anime just never gripped me enough to get through. I might check out vol 1 of these editions to see if I prefer reading like with One Piece

I've been the same way as well with a lot of series! I tend to enjoy manga more, but still enjoy anime also! Fullmetal is one that I thought the anime was just good and I know that's an unpopular opinion haha I personally enjoyed the manga more than the anime. The only thing I found myself struggling with a bit was the art, but the story is incredible. Definitely think it's worth the shot though especially if you enjoyed reading series like One Piece more so than watching it!

I've seen a little bit of this anime back then and I stopped watching it so I'm gonna probably watch this anime again when I feel like watching it and if I like the anime maybe later on I would probably get these hardcover manga edition of this manga. Honestly in my opinion I like hardcover manga more because paperback Mangas break more easily if you don't take good care of it by that I mean that the corners get off easily and I just don't like that and also I wish that the sailor moon manga was hardcover in English but we only have paperback versions while German and I believe French have hardcover editions for eternal edition and I know it's not nice to complain but that's my opinion.

Great overview and review. I think it's a bit odd that you thought skipping looking at the Berserk statue due to his death, I personally think it would be more respectful to show off his character and review the statue to show everyone how great his creations were during this time. Not a big deal, just a thought I had.

I really appreciate your kind words! I actually ended up doing the review of the statue on the channel but just waited for a month or so to post it out of respect for his family. I definitely wasn't going to skip posting the video and it is up on the channel now, because Berserk is my favorite and the Guts statue is my favorite statue in the collection! In my opinion, it just seemed like a lot of content creators were posting videos to capitalize (and this isn't all, but a few) and I really just wanted to wait out of respect, but I get what you are saying!

Ohyea there were a ton of creators releasing r.i.p kentaro videos all over youtube when word got out. Berserk clothing ads started appearin on my ig feed. Imagine some famous person dies and next day im making r.i.p _____ shirts of that person so i can sell for profit on ebay. Thats who i saw it atleast lol easy views for them
