The first video of the "Fully Equipped" series I started with doing articles on Patreon. The articles go a bit more in depth into different points and choices to make in handgun selection, but seeing as how beat to death that is on RU-vid, I opted to keep it relatively short. There are tons of videos comparing different handguns, calibers, optics, etc. This is simply what I use and have chosen to use over the years of trying 9mm and .45ACP from different designs and manufacturers.

When talking about printing in concealed carry the grip is usually the the problem. When running battle rattle the grip is usually what gets caught up on things. This is why I prefer the G19 length grip with a G17 length slide. They don't make that. So, you have to do what I did and make a G17s(short), by chopping the grip length. This gives you the longer sight radius which helps to more accurately align the sights, and higher muzzle velocity (MV). MV is about 70 feet per second faster than a G43 and 40fps than G19. Some guys like running the longer lights because the light face acts as a standoff and prevents the slide from going out of battery when pressed up against a threat.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the last part. I think if you can comfortably shoot a 19 you should get one. I think that the 19 length is overall a better option for concealing and duty use, but I think that the 17 length is way more comfortable and handles better

Glock 49 my good sir is exactly what you're looking for. It's a newer model though has that 19 grip but 17 slide. But sounds like you just says f*ck it and made it before glock would come out the model

@@AN_APPEAL_2_HEAVEN I made mine when they announced the G19x (G17 grip, G19 slide). I understand Glock had LE demand for that variation because officers wanted a shorter slide so their holster wouldn't get jacked up sitting in cruiser seats. I don't know if that is true but it makes sense since a lot wear belt drop holsters.

The light also helps with what phlster calls the "keel" effect that helps conceal, which in this case is hindered by having the full sized grip.

I went from a Polymer80, to a Makarov, to G26, to a G17. Now, i carry a G34 w/Acro P2 & Streamlight TLR1HL. I found smaller built pistols to have bad recoil, capacity limitations, etc. For many, this is a lot of pistol. For me, i want to give myself the greatest advantage over any potential adversaries. A pistol to a civilian is what a rifle is to an infantryman. I wanted my G34 to be and act as my primary. (Similar concept to SOCOM wanting the MK23).

8:44 If you are limited to owning only one gun, then by all means, put a light on it. Weapon mounted lights are great for law enforcement/military or home defense, where searching in the dark, for threats, is a possibility. They also provide a free hand. For personal defense/EDC, they're not necessary. In a personal defense situation, you see your threat, and then you draw. You are sure of your target. You're not looking for trouble with your light. Don't use your weapon mounted light as a traditional flashing.

I sling a p365 and a p10c. I've had the p10c for a loooooooong time, used to shoot competitions with it. I think thats the best way to test your setups. I used to cc it, but unless I'm going to the city (i live 90 miles from an interstate) I generally just carry the 365 around our tiny town and at Mass. Surefire on the CZ, tlr7sub on the 365.
