Hi, for MEXT scholarship you need to go through embassy route. For private admission or any university based scholarships, you can directly apply. I'm going to upload a video on undergraduate scholarships soon.

As Masters in Japanese Universities involves research that needs a professor's supervision. That's why many universities follow this track. There are some universities that ask to directly submit applications on the portal. Another option is to apply through the embassy of Japan in your country.

I think the applications for undergraduate would open around March. Please check the Japanese embassy website in your country. You don't need to take SAT, embassy takes its own test.

No they are separate tracks. You can apply for university track, no affect of the embassy track on it

Hi, Your hesitance is natural because in Japan, there are limited options for Undergraduate in English. If you find such a program, go for it. Otherwise go for MEXT embassy track for undergraduate, that will have one year for teaching you Japanese under scholarship, and then starting undergraduate. What's your level of Japanese by the way? Are you interested to learn in the future?

However I'll still look for opportunities in English for undergraduate students. Sadly the site of the Japanese embassy in my country hasn't updated anything about the MEXT this year so I'll keep looking back at it as well.

I wanted to know something about the university track of MEXT scholarship. I finished my honors 4th year exam this month. But there is some improv which will be finished in January. All the results will be published + consolidated by mid 2024 (estimated) and it will take some more time to release the marksheet. Hi, You can start emailing before. To apply, you can attach provisional graduation certificate even if you don't have final degree. But I guess the deadline for most universities is almost over (you can still apply in some universities that don't require a professor's consent letter).

The gap is not a problem for universities. The age limit for MEXT scholarship is 34 years. For university there is no age limit.

It depends upon the course type. If the course is offered in English it will be taught in English. Usually good universities have many courses in English. Both are good options, it depends when you're ready.

Hi, according to my knowledge. In Japan, shifting from diploma to university degree always results in the wastage of one year. One of my friends, did 12+3 diploma and then started from 3rd year in a different university.

Hi, You can apply for Undergraduate under MEXT but honestly the seats are limited. For undergraduate other options are on self-finance or partial fee exemption. However after finishing undergraduate, you have a lot more options to apply for, in Masters, under MEXT scholarship and other scholarships as well.

In my understanding, both are equally prestigious scholarships. You can try in both and then based on university ranking etc. you can decide where to go.

Especially big tech ? 6)- people with high English level but basic Japanese language level survive there for studies and job? 7)- how to exempt Japanese language year from studies and start directly with Ms class, if you did language and language proficiency exam from your home country? @@nayhamanzoor1848 1. After study, work prospects are quite good in Japan, especially in IT. With basic Japanese there are several part time opportunities, and in big cities a lot of English teaching opportunities. 3. This is a general impression, but it really depends on the work place, the workplaces that are open to hire foreigners, have a good work culture. There is a big shift recently in terms of work life balance. 4. Sony, Panasonic, Toyata, Honda, NTT, Nintendo, Hitachi, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm.. 5. Especially in IT you can find opportunities without Japanese, but each level of Japanese brings more opportunities 6. Japanese is not mandatory for starting masters or PhD, especially if you're on the university recommendation track. 7. For masters in Data science almost all good universities must have english courses. I don't have the list at hand though. In general, Japan and Korea are almost the same in career prospects, I'm probably biased towards Japan because I found it good so far.

In MEXT university track you are allowed to apply in one university at a time. Have you already thought which university is your first preference?

Applying in both isn't advised. Because in March your seat is confirmed as MEXT scholar. So in case both universities offer you scholarships and you choose one, the other seat is wasted. The other problem is that when two universities send your nomination to MEXT for scholarship. MEXT can take action to even cancel the scholarship because according to rules, you can apply in one.

Aisa kesy ho skta bhai, department ki website search kren. Or admission process b check kren. For some departments in University of Tokyo, professor's recommendation is not needed.

1. Universities usually provide cheap accommodations and scholarships is enough to survive. 2. As a fresh graduate depending upon your skills you can earn upto 4lacs Japanese yen a month. Minimum would be 250k.

If your undergraduate was in English, you can provide proficiency letters from university as a replacement of IELTS. I think passport is not needed at the time of application.

Usually professor gives you a letter after giving you consent. You can check in the university criteria if letter is required or consent email from professor would also work. It depends upon university. It's good to add any supporting documents including Pec certificates.

Yes Zainab, you can apply in both. Actually before the university track starts, the applicant would already know if they were shortlisted through embassy track or not, because timeline is different for both tracks. Which graduate major are you targeting?

You can contact multiple professors but after getting professor's acceptance. You are advised to apply in one university only under MEXT scholarship.

I can understand. And almost everyone faces this challenge. I can give a few suggestions to improve your email. 1. Try to make your research plan more specific by targeting key expertise of the professor, which you can find out by looking at their latest publications. 2. Try adding milestones in your proposal, by mentioning that you would publish your work in tip journals. Another approach is to highlight your profile as good as possible and don't attach research proposal and let professor to decide what they want you to work on. Try both approaches and see what works. What field are you targeting?
