I loaded my 2023 Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition down with EVERYTHING I would take on a long motorcycle touring trip and hit the road to test how she rides with all the weight. I adjusted the suspension settings to allow for Full Payload.
This is the first shakedown run in a series of 4 in preparation for a 5 day moto-camping trip I have scheduled this fall:
1. Fully Loaded Short Trip (this video)
2. Fully Loaded Long Day Trip
3. Overnight camp near home
4. Overnight camp far from home
The fully adjustable suspension on the Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition proved itself worthy on the highway, the backroads, and the trails in this day trip to the Flagg Mountain lookout tower in Weogufka State Forest.

Great Video !! Just picked up my 901 Expedition Thursday & heading off next week with my Brother to tour Northumberland UK & do a little off-roading & camping around Kielder forest, so nice to know it handles well.

Yea, Chris and Tom were both great to work with and I felt like I got a smoking deal. The Norden has so many great reviews, I think it will be just right for what I wanted Can’t wait to start riding it! Maybe we could meet up, I really want to see the explorer model and see the difference in seat height. :) Happy trails!

I started riding when I was 7 and I'm currently 60 and I've always " counter balanced " when I rode. Most techniques discussed on the internet was just things we did naturally when riding we just didn't have official names for them. You can try different things and if they feel comfortable then do them. If not don't just don't scold other riders because they don't do the same things as you. Thanks.

Yep. I was about to say I’m all about the counter balancing as well and F9’s video help cement my decision. I’ve got 5600 miles on my Expedition riding around the blue ridge mountains of NC and TN. so far and have no complaints. I can’t wait to do some Moto camping this fall while looking forward to a BDR sooner than later. Enjoy and be safe! 🏍️💨

Love it!! BRP is on the itinerary for day 2 and 3 this fall. Going to hop off at Courthouse and head towards Highlands. I’m staring at the 2024 calendar now trying to plan a Milky Way astrophotography session out west. 🤔

Your videos have helped me. I am SO torn in buying an older GS (2018) but 3 hours away from a BMW dealership VS buying a 2023 901 Exp with 150 miles, and a dealership down the street. I am 90% highway touring. The 901 Exp is a great deal price wise. Im 6'1 250 lb. Any advice?!

If you're doing highway, the GS is going to be hard to beat. The Husqy/KTM is great, but not as comfortable as the BMW. That said, both are plenty capable. Would love to hear what you decide!

Everyone that watched the vid, you have to admit this was done extremely professional and wow, what passion this guy Mike has ...I love it. Great video and the comments were spot on. Ride to your experience level, we are all in this together. Anyway, huge thumbs up for your excellent show!!! How do you like the windshield extension gadget? Doe it smooth out buffeting? I’m first on the list for a 24 Expedition and can’t wait! I’m coming from a 20 Africa Twin Adventure sport and am looking forward so a somewhat lighter bike and really think the saddle gas tank should be helpful. Thanks for the great video!

Congrats! You’re gonna love it. The deflector helps take some buffeting off the top of my helmet on the highway. But I wouldn’t buy this cheap one again. Adjusting it is so goofy. Eventually I’ll pickup the Puig.

Hey mike, Now we share 2 bikes if you still have your 390. Good to see you. I had just totalled my expedition and was considering the tiger rally pro and after watching several reviews, i saw this ride. Fell in love with the Norden again so off i go now to buy another. Many thanks bud.
