simple when you think about it, this restoration was done to make a video for youtube to make money, the engine is likely just put into storage after filming
Y’all see that massive scar on the crank journal where the connecting rod goes? How about that cylinder that didn’t even get a dingle ball hone? A real quality job. Should last a long time. Geez.
Good ... you are expert in doing the job , but you never tell from which country ...? Nepal , vietnam , ruhinya , philipines , thailand , muun , or indo china ...? want to know ...! im from kuala lumpur , tq for the video.
What is truly AMAZING is this jungle mechanic has no problem finding parts for possibly OVER 100 year old utility engine, but I can't find a carburetor for 15 year old Tecumseh.
This is Asia and engine may only be 20-30 years old. The fact that spares were available shows this may be a mass produced little engine fo rwater pumps, rice mills etc.
My thoughts exactly, the crank rod journal didn’t look to clever, didn’t hone the bore for the new rings, the dirty oil got me,,, like washing your feet and putting your dirty socks back on …
Many things i will have done in a other way, but in the end the result is importent. and it runs nice and smothly for a 1zyl. engine. most impressiv is the transport, unbelievabel! All thumps up!
It is pretty evident that the “crust” on the outside is pretty uniform and homogeneous. I’d say they covered it with in a substance and then fine dirt or dust was applied and left to cake on. Not a single seized or rusted on bolt.
I've seen crust like that on motors in feed mills. They are exposed to fine dust over a long period of time. The engine looked like it was sealed ok, so I would not expect the bolts to be stuck. Imho
@@johnnytoobad4287 Yes, but my beef with these videos and the rust repair videos is that it’s ALWAYS uniform and often on different materials on the same piece. Evidently a spray and pray patina.
Its just cooked on shit man... pretty common.. and thoes bearings were hammered.. Now don't mention not honing the bore or the shitty assembly techniques...
I see working engines like this all the time, it's just soaked in oil and covered in dust from it's environment. I've come to worse engines and every single bolt has come out with a hand spanner because it was all soaked in oil and diesel from being kept filthy for years.
You said in description: "I hope you find something useful from this video!" I did. Definitely I found. Everything was new for me. WOW so instead of oil you can use soya sauce? I have to try. LOL
A suggestion! From your RU-vid earnings buy yourself a torque wrench and a set of feeler gauges as well as a bottle of NEW oil. Old oil destroys engines.
These engines will run with brick dust and hammers in the sump, new oil would've been better for sure, but sometimes the budget isn't there. As for feeler gauges, fair enough, but equally, these things were designed to be set up by a farmer in a field. Once you know how a properly adjusted tappet feels on one of these old things, it's probably about right!
I like the videos, but I usually watch them on mute. The background sounds and noises are disturbing and distracting. You may want to consider editing the audio to eliminate those noises and sounds and/or maybe using some royalty free music. I’d like to hear music from where you’re from. also, if you lower the pitch of the audio, inversely proportional to the speed, you’ll get normal sounding noises, only faster. keep up the great work!
Parabéns. Vocês dois excelentes mecânicos. Trabalham muito bem. O MOTOR FICOU LIMPO, SEM MARCAS DE DEDOS COM GRAXA. Vocês são muito limpos. Muito bom serviço. Parabéns. Tupiara/Brasil- Rj
This was a horrible job they did not reground or polish the bearing surface on the crankshaft and replace the bearing on the connecting rod. There was at least three other bearing that should have been replaced. This engine will last no more than a year in service and when the connecting rod bearing goes there will be major damage.
Great work you really make a huge effort to get that diesel engine Tell me because I'm curious Where is this taking place who are you fellows what country are you in I live in Canada I really enjoyed your video I hope you are making good money off it
