Fulton Hogan Bay of Plenty - New Bitumen Tanker 

With the closing of Wynard Wharf in 2014, bitumen cartage for the North Island was centralised to our Bay of Plenty Bitumen and Emulsion Plant in Tauranga.
Although current customer demands were being met through the existing fleet of tankers, opportunities for improvements and efficiencies were recognised.
A new 9 Axle MAN truck and trailer combination, with a permitted gross weight of 60 tonne, will soon start the Tauranga to Auckland run to service existing clients and open up opportunities for new business.
With an overall length of 23m (the maximum allowed on NZ Roads), the tanker will be able to carry 15 tonne more than existing tankers. It also comes with the latest generation of control systems designed and built, in conjunction with SWARM Intelligence, to suit bulk tank operations.
