The Nissan 370Z has been around for a while but its replacement is on the horizon. As we get ready to check out the 400Z, I spent a week driving the latest 370Z Nismo and discovered it can still be fun, just really ready for a replacement. With a 3.7L NA V6 (VQ37) making 350hp/276 lb-ft, the Z is quick and luckily offered with a manual transmission. Infotainment and interior is overall quite dated, but the Nismo brings some nice handling features that sharpen it up. My biggest takeaway was how analog this car still feels, especially given how everything in the newest generation is going to digital, or drive by wire or some other fancy computer controlled system.

Like the review. Yes guys, I’m the owner of a 2020 Nismo Z. Love the car. The last of the true analog car. It’s why I bought it. Now for someone who will say I wasted my money. Well it’s my choice and have no regrets. In years to come, this platform will be greatly missed. The VQ engine in this car has been on the top 10 best engines made 12 years now.

I own a 350z '06 from new and still have no regrets, it's fun to drive and that's all that matters to me. Over the years I thought about swapping it, but fundamentally asked myself... "will this new car put a bigger smile on my face than I already have after the new car feeling wears off?" Considering I still have it says it all. It's been a bullet proof car for me during my current ownership experience.

Love my Z, honestly wouldn't trade it for anything else... except for perhaps the next Z35. Fancy touch screens are nice but my preference is for driver engagement, and a simple way to adjust the radio/music and HVAC systems. Tactile feedback please!

What do you need to have fun? Rear-wheel drive with 285/35/19 tires, large brakes, V6 naturally aspirated engine, 350 hp and 1500 kg weight and that for less than 45000 + 750 for an oil cooler, if you want to have fun in second and third gear on narrow, winding road. ...If you don't like Smarthpone Cockpit, this is perfect.

Finally bought one of these after dreaming about it for years and let me tell you, it is so much fun to drive. I finally get why enthusiasts say it's a real passionate car not dampened by all new age electronics that take away the feeling of driving a machine. Take off traction control and tap the gas a little and you will giggle like a little boy!

Always loved the Z. Sold my 260z years ago and I've never stopped missing it. I'd love to pick up a late production Nismo when they depreciate a bit more. Its plenty powerful and looks great... plus it's analog which you simply cannot find anymore.

This is how i like my sport cars, small and simple. I dont like all that button shit on my steering wheel, all i care is that it has a functional radio and bluetooth. Pretty much all you need.
@josephcassiba263
@josephcassiba263 3 года назад
The 370z Nismo has a now unique, old school, visceral driving experience. Once it's gone, I think it will be desirable, like the Honda s2000, because they just don't make cars like this anymore. As a car enthusiast, I love the driving experience. Most new sports cars are more capable, but also disconnected, especially the steering. Will be sad if they give the new 400z the e-steering. I have a more capable tuned Audi TTS, and every time I drive the Nismo I'm tempted to get one, because it's just so much fun and engaging.

good review overall - and your friend is right - if you think of buying a Nismo on the used market for $30ish - it's a GREAT value and great car. Still a fun RWD car to drive that is not a stop light monster (like a Mustang or Camaro) but is fun to wring out the gears and carve up some twisties and has more than enough power to put a smile on your face. Also - with this car being as old as it is - the engine is pretty much bullet proof and the aftermarket is huge. Just my .02

Motordyne exhuast set up + soho motorsports SC kit. Then try to drop some weight.. the aftermarket potential of this car is crazy. if you can do the labor yourself you can stay in line with the bigger mustang/camaros for a way cheaper price. Maybe not on the dig. but the roll for sure. After driving a mustang and my Z i just like driving the Z more even tho i know the stang has more powa.

The 400z VR30 twin turbo is not a new motor. The VR30’s are not dominating the streets. The VQ twin turbo cars are known for 650-750 hp. The 370z is a drivers car. If you want a car to play with the touch screen then a Tesla maybe what you’re looking for.
