I like new and old sleds. I had a 1998 Arctic Cat Z440 and I loved that thing, but just earlier today I went and picked up a 2017 Arctic Cat High Country. Both great sleds but the 2017 is way better in every way and looks better in my opinion. Don't hate on new sleds, there's something to like about them. I've ridden a bunch of old and new sleds, the newer ones are much better. And they also look better, but looks are subjective.
I'm looking at a 2001 and it has RER. What's better about the 99. I have no Idea. I had a 99 600 and a 2000 700 MXZ. Both awesome except the 99 had the SC10 and the other had the SC10-2. I hated the harsh ride on the 99. So much so, that I sold it after 1 year to get the 700 with a the update.
My choice of thrill back than was the 700 XC , 220. Jugs , snowchecked Model , PSI center dump exhaust , But nothing like my Buddy had ? A 1998 Thundercat , across Big Bay , it never quit pulling , I wrapped the speedo around to the M , on MPH at the bottom of the Guage , and got scared !
Nice ride but honestly if you pulled that shit with me (swooshing past on the left side from behind on a narrow road without warning) i'd have a sit down talk about common sense. Speed is fun and all but it aint worth risking someones life for.
