@@NN-og4kj There's a few historical things I wouldn't mind covering, like how downtown used to be a thriving Little Manila in the 30s. Maybe I can link up with the big Cambodian community there and share meals with them too. I can probably do a tribute to my friend who was shot on Hammer Ln. Shoot, it'd be dope to train with the Diaz Brothers if I can get that link. Stockton is a good request. Thanks!

@@iammelso Stockton will always have a special place in my heart. I served a mormon mission in the Sacramento area and got to be in Stockton for 9 months. As a missionary I I rode my bike all over that city to places I would never venture to again. My mother grew up in a nearby town called Brentwood. Her dad (my grandpa) was Filipino and I'm learning more about his life. He was born in the Philippines and was an orphan and ended up in California to farm. I have a feeling he was around Little Manila back in the day but still doing my research to verify. Decades later there I was in Stockton in the same place my grandpa was at. One day I'll visit again. Btw nice O'ahu vid....I live on Kaua'i..If you thought O'ahu was nice you'll definitely love Kaua'i 🤙🏽

@@NN-og4kj Stockton definitely has some dangerous areas - it's known for that in this region of California. I understand why you'd never want to venture to some parts again. I recently discovered Chico. There's a historical society museum with locals that tell the story of the region. Worth a visit.

Aloha, I'm a Hapa Hawaiian Female that grew up here on Oahu. Mom was the Mixed Native Hawaiian, Dad the Mainland Gentleman who fell in Love and Married her while Stationed on Oahu in the Army. This is a really well constructed vid 🤙 As you said about planning this adventure, it takes a lot planning to run smoothly. We did 15 days in May last year and with the help of watching a lot of YT and local RU-vidrs we had the best time and an extremely full itinerary. Great vid , cheers Rod 🤙

@@iammelso If you ever get back to Waikiki , my top tip , forget about luaus.. Look up Rock A Hula show ! It’s smack bang in the middle of Waikiki in the Royal Hawaiian Centre, walking distance from every hotel. It’s a full on buffet dinner with all the trimmings, then a 90 mins show featuring Elvis and Michael Jackson impersonators .. The show covers the time line of Hawaii. When we went it was on sale for $99 per head. I thinks it’s around $130 Do not buy the VIP seating , not worth it , you get a Lei and an extra drink and near front row seating. Just get the normal tickets and sit in about the 5th or 6th row- why ? VIP’s get the first 4 rows , then there is a whole row vacant for Elvis to walk through and shake hands while he sings. Total bang for your buck .. There is a good YT vid on it by rock star eater but don’t get the vip.

Thanks so much! I’m happy that you all enjoyed it. I definitely would go back to Aulani, they actually have a bunch of things you can do there without checking in a guest. My other family members who didn’t do the Character Breakfast with us were able to enjoy ocean kayaking, windsurfing, and relaxing on Aulani’s beach. I’d try to look into it more to see if that interests you. I hope you have lots of fun out there! Thanks for watching!

Just came back from my 7 days Oahu vacation yesterday, Jan 15. Generally, I wouldn't dine at any place on the boardwalk, except maybe Marukame Udon. Even Panda Express was crap. Expensive prices (especially when they don't even post the price in the menu), small portion. I usually go to where the locals dine, like Sing Cheong Yuan Bakery, Soon's Kal Bi BBQ, Cafe Kalawe, Gina's BBQ, Kalihi BBQ, Richie's Drive Inn. Shaved ice & shrimp thing is way overrated, IMHO. Never did the luau though. Maybe next time. I mostly did hiking & eating. Didn't bring a swim trunk so no water activities. Been here in 2019 so I skip most of the tourist stuff, like Pearl Harbor tour & did more off the beaten path activities.

Awesome Video. My family and I loved it. We have been watching videos prepping for our upcoming trip, and this was by far the best one. Did you all hire a photographer or did resort have one? Who did you all use if you did hire one. We are taking our first trip to Hawaii and want to do some professional pictures.
