I love this song. Why did they cut it? This song adds more variety to the show to contrast the ballads more and it makes the ballads more meaningful

Having read the graphic novel/memoir recently, I can’t recall anything in particular that this is based on within it, while for Party Dress there is. It might just be a case of a tighter narrative more true to the source material.

Am I the only one who thinks this is better than Party Dress and while that song is more relevant to the plot it isn't really necessary and they could have just kept this one?

Party dress is to characterize bruce and alison more to show his mindset and he made her feel bad about herself with this song it just kinda feels like a repeat of ring of keys. She's young and a lesbian, but doesnt understand it yet

I think it would be cool if they kept both in. I like party dress because of her relationship with her dad and how he wants to project his femininity onto her, but this one is just super fun and sweet!

This is so cute! I was wondering can anyone explain what this scene was like staged in the show? It's basically Allison fantasizing and playing pretend about saving a girl but was it just he'd on stage alone? I get why it was cute but it's adorable lol I love Sydney

It reminds me of the part in the graphic novel where she sees two calendars with naked women. It reminds me of this scene because it’s the only time in the novel where she asks to be called by a male version of her name. When listening to this song, I kinda imagine her pretending to rescue one of the women

mimmar3891 this song was in the off broadway production but they cut it out and replaced it with party dress
