My parents' friends left for vacation and left their budgie with us. Since my parents go to work and my siblings are attending day camps I am taking care of him every day, from 8am to 5pm. Budgie seems stressed all the time and he is really active when you take him out of the cage. Maybe it's because he's in a new place, idk, but when I saw this video I was shocked - a lot of interestingly toys and gadgets seemed so fun, but ,,mine" doesn't have any. I just found some big wooden ring and used a string to hang it in his cage. All he does is sitting and nervously looking around. I really want to buy him a new cage, some toys and all the cool stuff, because all he does is seating (most of the time), ,,yelling'', climbing walls, drinking and eating.
I will tell u a lot so I was putting a bell on 5op of my parakeets cage and one of them almost picked it up and wanted to ring it like me and one time one of my birds were on the floor with paper on the floor and when I came back I saw a lot of chewing marks and I love to play with my feathered friends! So much!
my bird is adorable but he is difficult lol. he ALWAYS gets scared of new toys but eventually he'll warm up to it, but it does take a while. recently i got another budgie and this budgie was not scared of any of the toys and eventually, my other budgie wasn't afraid of the other toys too.
I got my birdie 2 days ago I’m putting my hand it’s there with food to try and get her on my hand and get her comfortable with me the first time I tried I opened the door and she went mad I tried again today and she was perfect until I got about 5 cm away and she flew to the other side
The store that I purchased my parakeet from clipped his wings and I can't wait for the feathers to grow back because he likes to explore and will jump from his cage and won't be able to get back up.
I hand fed my little boy I got back in November now he barks and growls and meows he says says the word stupid to my husband bluetooth its really cute because it's like hes trying to make phone calls and when hes wears hes hearing aids bugs will go to each ear and yell inside them this little guy is really brilliant he even chases my chihuahuas and tries to ride them they each have an harness on them I have a question I bought him he never had a band on his leg but I know that the girl who was had them was way out in no where and she had both parents and was doing this to make money in high school during this Corona virus sadly so they wouldn't be out on the streets I didn't even think nothing about it because almost every thing was still close down. How do I get him band on his leg .
I have four budgies and it seems one of the four is tamed and calm, but the other three fly wild and never seem to be able stay calm. I catch them right away and put them inside back to the cage so they cant get hurt badly. However they seem to like it when theyre inside the cage more then outside, is it natural for them to be more playful inside rather than outside the cage? I worry that they are not gonna have the exercise they need and flap their wings and stretch.
EDIT: it’s too late now. he died about 3 hours later and i still don’t know why😢 *SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP* It’s only been a week and a half since i got my two budgies and everything’s been going well until this morning at around 11am i checked on them and the blue one is fine, but the green one keeps losing his balance and falling a lot. I found him sleeping in his food tray, and i have never touched them before cause they’re new, but mine just doesn’t seem phased at all when i stuck my hand in to change the water. (he usually gets scared and moves to the other side of the cage) Right now at 12pm he’s still just on the floor of his cage laying down, but his heart is beating and he’s breathing. Someone please let me know what’s going on
I have. Abudgie about half the size of my 1 year old. He has a brother who is normal size, and is extremely nippy He doesn’t grow his primary feathers at all and loves snuggling with humans.we believe he has dewarfism for budgies
question i've had a lovebird for 3 months, i think he trusts me since he steps on my hand and even he would be sitting on my neck, the problem is that it would bite my neck really hard by surprise like all of a sudden he would bite my neck really hard to the point that it makes me jump litteraly, what could this be?

So every day I try and train my budgies, Snow and Sky, to eat from my hand or to step up onto a stick of millet. When I feed them millet they'll eat it as long as their back is turned to me so they think I can't see them eating lol. Every day we seem to be getting a little closer but then when I take a shower and change my clothes they get dead scared of me again. What should I do??????
How do I budgie-proof my room if it has numerous stuffed toys and active electronics with wires scattered all over with several regions being permanently soaking in dust every day no matter how hard I constantly clean it up

Hi! I am planning on getting a parakeet but I need to know, if I am at school, can I close my door, leave his jungle gym out, and let him be free around my room for 7 hours?
In my opinion, a budgie should always be supervised when let out of it's cage because it can get stuck somewhere or in between something so I think it'd be better to leave him in his cage while you're gone. :D
