I’m late to watching these Japan vlogs and I was so happy to see them running into you :). I love both of your channels. So that was an awesome surprise.
Wow, you finally visited Japan. I still can't forget the shock of my first visit to Japan. Rich nature and futuristic architecture, ancient history and cutting-edge technology, chaos and order, traditional culture and diverse pop culture... all coexisted in perfect balance. And the people were very friendly and respectful to each other, and they cherished the public places, and the cleanliness was maintained everywhere, whether in the city or in the countryside. In addition, small children ride the subway alone, young women nonchalantly walk alone in the middle of the night, and in cafes, people go to the bathroom with their bags and laptops on their seats as a matter of course. Oh, it goes without saying that the food here tastes great. Just look at the number of stars in the Michelin Guide
I love how absolutely delighted Kitra looks throughout this entire video! It looks like she wants to squeal in excitement every time she turns around. It’s the cutest ever!🥰🥰🥰🥰
i feel like people are so much more respectful in japan than they are in america! love these vlogs! thank you guys for taking us along with you! ❤ also, kitras editing is hilarious! the voice over of the guy telling you guys to try the egg sandwich at 711😂 i died
Enjoyed the 'cute' counter that was going throughout the whole video. Props to the both of you for conquering Shibuya Station, both morning and night. Love how you tackle the chaos with calm and reason. It is honestly the only way to do it.
Kitra's happy cries make me happy cry too😂 my heart is happy to see Kitra so happy to be finally visiting a place she's dreamed of visiting forever. I cant wait to someday go to Japan too. Thanks for taking us all on this adventure with you❤️
This video series is a dream come true! My husband and I wish to go to Japan someday. Even learning Japanese just in case lol. Thank you for sharing and showing the Japanese culture! Including the vending machine food and 7-11 food! That is part of their amazing culture and we truly appreciate your detailed videos! 💛
I only just got to the part where you’re having a Japanese 7-11 breakfast, and I’m already jealous. Japanese convenience stores really are something, and I miss them so much. EDIT: Just watched the part where Kitra used a public bathroom in Japan, and yes, Japanese bathrooms are also so much better. It makes America look primitive in comparison.
I watched these videos when they first came out as early research for our trip. Now we leave in a few days and I'm getting travel jitters so I'm rewatching them and it's calming me down a lot. Thanks so much for all you do!!!
new viewer here, I think my recommendations are finally working. A little information about the lack of trash cans in Tokyo. So years ago there was this bombing incident in the city which a guy hid bombs in trash cans around the city and a few people got seriously injured or hurt. So after the incident the Japanese government put a ban on trash cans in the city area. So always carry a small tote/plastic bag for your rubbish. Also an extra tip; Lawson's, Family mart and 7/11 have public rubbish bins in their stores. You know because of "Convenience".
My husband and I are about to embark on an adventure to Japan late 2024, so I'm VERY thankful for your videos. I was in Japan in 2013 on a school trip, so this will be my first time planning a trip.
This makes me even more excited to go in Feb! Oh and pro-tip, if you head to a Japanese or Asian bakery you can totally buy the bread to make the sandwiches at home! Great video guys!!!
After our last trip to Japan, my husband bought me a Toto washlet. It replaces the toilet seat on the toilet you already have. It works so amazingly well! I love it and it's the best gift he's ever given me. We're heading back to Japan with our teen in a few months, so we're loving your Japan videos!!!!!!!!!!
@@OrdinaryAdventures Oh, that stinks. Our toilet is behind a partial wall for a bit of privacy, but there's no outlet there, so the thick electrical cord runs along the floor, around the wall and up the side of the counter to the outlet. Looks terrible, but works. Hopefully you can figure out how to make one work for you!
Spot on about the subtle, more natural sweetness of the treats there, which I appreciated actually 😋 If you stay there long enough, having a dessert back in the states will feel like being slapped across the face with a bag of sugar lol!
Welcome to my motherland! Yeah the lack of trash cans (and free wifi) is a bit of a pain, as is the fact that it's a pretty cash-dependent economy. But yeah the 7-11s there are on-point! 😘👌 And yes after my dad lived there for so many years the first thing he did when they got back home was to install a Japanese-style toilet in their house lol 🚽
I would over-say cute too, it’s just super kawaii there! 🥰 This is amazing!! Loving the pro tips too; saving this video for a future reference ✅ Can’t wait for more Tokyo videos! 🎉
@@OrdinaryAdventuresyall have to. you could spend a week in Tokyo alone. Also Universal Studios Osaka is something special. It doesn’t have the greatest selection of rides, but it has a level of charm none of the other Universal Parks have and it makes me tear up thinking about it.
Love the vid! Personally I found the train system in Japan to be super easy. We bought the JR Pass and used CityMapper to navigate and had no issues! I miss Japan so much! Glad I get to go there again through your videos.
Yeah kitra you won the stuffed toy thing looks so adorable and cute you two put your hearts and souls and joy into each and every video you do it shows I love watching it wow what a treat to watch all your videos I can’t get over how amazing ordinary adventures channel really is , thanks you guys are the best to take all along when you go on adventures ! 😁😆😃😀😎
I loved how you guys kept it real talking about how there might be language barriers in restaurants and getting confused with certain machines and especially using the subway. Those are all things that people who travel don’t really touch base on and the trip seems so easy, however we all know that in reality things don’t always go smoothly. Thank you guys for sharing this awesome Tokyo trip with us!
First. Loving your videos. This is my first time seeing your videos and they're great. Also, I just looked it up, cause I was curious. Observatory tickets for Empire State Building and Eiffel Tower are $44 and $30 per person. That's crazy.
My family and i went April 2023 and my boys (11&13) loved it!! Hubby and i met in Osaka teaching English (same school) in 1997. Went back for our 20th anniversary. Planning out next trip back!!! An't wait to see what else you experience!! Gotta do a conveyor belt sushi!!
A smaller menu means fresher ingredients!! That means I’m even more excited to go someday. Thanks so much for allowing us to travel with you on this wonderful journey. You allowed my family and I to make the best out of our Disney trip last year and when we go to Japan we’ll be watching these again.
Ahhh guys you have no idea how much i needed this today, received devastating news about my aunt and its had me in the dumps. This vid helped keep my mind off things.
Ireally loved this adventure in Shibuya so much! Thank you so much for showing it to us! That Lovot robot was just too too too adorbs......I was dead during that part.......
Ha it’s definitely not easy and vlogging the adventure makes it more complicated but I’ll say I thought Japan was going to be a lot more complicated than it ended up being. Thank you for the compliment!
So happy for you both. My two girls will be coming out there in July they already bought their plane tickets so and my daughter speaks fluent Japanese she learned on the computer so thank you for all your cool videos I can't wait to show her.
Suica and Google Maps saved me SO much when I did a two week stay in the Akihabara/Maihama area. Even then the subway was a little confusing and I ended up riding two stops in the opposite direction once! 7-11 food is amazing as well and I wish we had good 7-11's here and I loved being able to use my Suica for everything! 7-11, trains, and even my hotel's washing machine! So cool to see TDR Explorer as well in the video!
are you in US? there are some newer 7-Elevens being built I can't remember the specific name of them but they're testing them out and supposedly they're supposed to be one being built near me, they are going to be two stories and have a café and a better to go counter and way better foods‼️‼️‼️😲 so hope and pray that they build some more of those in the US😂
❤ awesome informative fun CUTE and so love seeing Japan though your eyes!!! It’s watching good friends have exciting experiences in a foreign place. Keep em coming and never let anyone take away from how much you both are loved by soooooo many! They are just jealous! ❤❤❤
There is a American remake of the japanese movie about the Akita in shibuya called Hachi, if you feel like crying I recommend checking it out. If you can find the original older Japanese version it’s even better.
I watch quite a few "Japanese" RU-vidrs, foreigners who live in Japan. Seeing you two travelling Japan as a first experience is so fun. It's a whole other take that I don't get to see from my usual channels
You guys might be quickly becoming our favorites. Just discovered you. We love living food experiences through you! So good. You have put more restaurants and food items on our bucket list than ever!
Your trip reminded me of my recent trip to Japan. I went to the same exact Mega Don Quixote store and bought tons of KitKats. You have to try the Pure brand if heart shaped gummies they are so good. Can't wait to watch the rest of your Japan videos!
what an experience to have thank you for sharing with us because ill never get there and it was cool to see everything.. and Kitra im proud of you for leaving that cute little robot that would have been so hard to leave that cuteness behind. ... definitely some interesting stuff there
Pro tip 454: ask someone, just ask 😂 got it 👍🏼 I’ve always wanted to travel to Japan and you’re doing all the things I would do there so I’m loving experiencing Japan through your experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤
We are loving this series! My hubby and I really want to try to get to Japan next year and watching your travels gives us so much info and makes it feel less intimidating. Thanks for sharing! 💜
I should take a shot to keep up with the cute counter 😂 new drinking game! Maybe a sip not a shot 😂 When Peter mentioned the coke plus I just said “oh no… I hope he didn’t buy it. It’s the laxative Coke”😂 thank god Peter chose a different drink! You guys got amazing shots of the places you visited! Thanks for taking us along!
Japanese restrooms are the greatest! They have emergency buttons in all the stalls, at least on the island of Kyushu. Most emergency buttons were red with emergency written in Japanese and English. Once there was a green button that didn’t say emergency so I thought it was the button to flush the toilet. Nope, it was the emergency button! Alarms went off, a guy started calling in Japanese, I’m assuming asking if I was okay but i don’t speak Japanese so just stepped out of the stall & looked at him sheepishly and bowed. I was so embarrassed!
31:50 I teared up when I heard this 🥹 the joy you spread is truly international! People from all over the world love you both and I’m just so over the moon about it! You deserve it! Also that cheesy bread looks so delicious! The cheese pull was perfect 🫰🏼
I've been watching Shane when he first started RU-vid and he was a teenager. I was just watching him and Ryland eating at Dunkin' Donuts Shane was telling us about your Channel and asking us to give you some love. I've been watching you in Japan having the time of your lives. I am just sI Happy you two are there enjoying yourselves, Anyway I am now subbed to your channel. Because you two make my heart happy.❤
They still have pay phones in case for emergency, like earth quakes. Mobile services tend to slow down or completely shut down and those pay phones become super useful😊 Love your videos❤️ Hope you had great time there!
Tokyo is way smaller and denser than California. ALL those ppl there will try to contact their families etc all at the same time. Ppl in California probably drive home safe and meet families within the same day, but that’s not the case for ppl in Tokyo. Some ppl even walk overnight to get home or wait for hours for taxi as public transportation will stop working in those situations💔
As much as I enjoy the freedom to do what i want and when I want as a solo traveller but when I see videos of a pair of travellers, it does have its advantages. For vlogging, you can take turns behind the camera, splitting costs and expenses. On the flip side, I've experienced that when I'm on my own out and about, it's more likely for me to strike up a conversation with someone or at a concert attendance versus it has been rare but when i have travelled with a friend (pre-YT channel) we didn't receive as much interaction with other people.
