I remember coding an entire rpg with 5 battles and animations on my TI84. It took me 5 months and 8 different programs but it worked. Best achievement of my life.
Kinda crazy how this is in my recommended after watching it a year ago and just getting a TI84 for school but forgetting u could do stuff on it. Thank you RU-vid algorithm
The TI-84 was my first introduction to programming that led to me learning actually useful programming languages. I remember sitting in algebra and writing simple scripts to automate all the hard parts of the lesson. So cool to see you bring more attention to the feature.
When I got my TI-84, I discovered I wanted to be a programmer. I created a program for all my math notes in which I could enter all variables and the calculator would show you each line to solve a formula. They still used it 5 years after I graduated (I happen to see someone transfer the program between two calculators in front of me). Since I was using my calculator too much, my batteries died for the final exams... Two years in a row (had the wrong backup batteries the second time).
6:53 “ you can do it to your friends calculator when there afk” This is what humanity had let to but still this is the type of content I would like to see
This video showed up on my recommended during the summer, and I just so happened to have that exact calculator on my desk. I'm gonna take Algebra II this year, and if it gets boring, I'll use this instead of ditching class *coughs and points to SomethingElseYT*. Thanks! This is really fun.
An easier way to clear all is to go to the "draw" command and go to "ClrDraw". that clears the whole graph. also there is a way to make an easy version of snake.
Splicerzo yea in real life my friends go away from kaculator since that’s what afk stands. For btw ik how to spell caculator just spelt it wrong on purpose
As someone who learned programming in ti-basic that ball program felt very painful. It couldve been done with a few for loops and messing with some string stuff. He did say he didnt know programming tho so i respect it. Very fun video otherwise
I have literally not watched any other calculator tutorial vid on a ti-84 calc b4 now bc all of them r boring, but I’m so glad I found ur vid cause omg I did not regret watching this vid
I recently got into the beautiful land of calculator games but sadly I dont have a chord to plug to my computer, so this video was a big lifesaver and now I can tinker around with displaying text when I feel like it.
James there are other drawing functions too, and I believe some animation. If you press apps on the calculator, there should be on that says calberint or smth like that, it’s third from first. And u can draw and delete things too.
Another thing that's actually helpful is that u can write programs for every and I mean every formula that you would encounter in both math and physics including university/college level. All constants can be saved making physics formulas even easier to program, one downside is that the memory might get filled pretty quick or u might run out of free variables to use. Also, almost all statistics functions like tests and confidence interval can be found under STAT. Really helpful if u need to show results in physics or statistics but if u have a PC u should just use Matlab or similar to do this, much easier and it prints pretty good pictures for an eventual report. For those who i pissed off a bit since I just mention math & physics I can confirm that it is useful in other subjects like chemistry, mechatronics, biology etc, just not as useful
"I need to calculate the Christopher Columbus to the America so that I can find the colony value and determine if it's a function or if it's a British soldier"
My recommendations: Fun things you can do on a Ti-84 Graphing Calculator Me who doesnt have a Ti-84 Graphing Calculator: Well well well then lets find out
Hi, computer science major here Yeah, copying and pasting the same line of code over and over again is absolutely the best way to write a looping program
Just by fooling around on my calculator in class I made a game where 4 random numbers would flash on the screen and you had to remember the order and type them back, it would continue in tell you got one wrong.
When you said "C++, Linux, and Python", I immediately got excited. I use Linux because I am part of the FOSS movement, I am learning C++, and I am a Python master! So... naturally I got excited! B-)
2 years ago i really wanted one of these… i realized they were quite expensive and forgot all about them until today when i got one for only $40. thanks james
my mom made programs on her ti-83 when she was in high school. she made a text based rpg esque thing called “drug war” and it was about… well… selling drugs. she sold the game and made a bunch of money off of it lmao i still have her calculator and she’s inspired me to start making games on calculators as well. i’ve made around 75 dollars from selling my version of ace attorney (text based but with lose graphics to add context + title screens etc) and that’s one of my best accomplishments
I wanna type: *HELP! I'M STUCK IN A CALCULATOR!* and show it to everyone, call the ambulance, and watch those idiots trying to "free someone" from a calculator 😂
Lineae Finem I that that when I got my time table for my year end exam I went up to my dad with the timetable and said to his face that this a demonic paper
