I like this tier list a lot. I enjoy listening to people talking about something other than how good they will be especially if there is a discussion on skill ceiling etc. this was helpful.

Your videos are a breath of fresh air. As someone quite occupied with what to play with all the metacritics out there, a vid on fun just helps. Gonna stick to that warrior i've played for 2 expacs to begin with and see where the prot war lands :)
most fun spec in whole of wotlk imo. i've played it "back in the day" and couldn't agree less with most of the tier lists i've seen so far. it's plain OP and fun as fk, you will be in a great spot

Nice to see a tier list like this! Just wanted to say, as Shadow Priest I don’t understand the mana issues. Dispersion regains a lot of mana, as well as shadow fiend. Both of those can get reduced cooldowns (1.2 mins and 3mins) , between that and getting spirit items (which you should because spirit increases your dps as well) Shadow never really hurts for mana. I always found this point of view strange. Maybe people are comparing to Aff Lock which never has mana problems. Shadow priest is really good to bring to all kinds of content. Decent dps, innate healing and back up healing when needed. Very fun.
Resto shaman becomes really fun when you get more haste, especially with the tier 10 set bonus they become an S tier healer for sure! You will be the most well rounded healer perfectly capable raid and tank healing with insane burst healing.
I havent seen the video yet but I love stuff like this. Even if it is very subjective I simply love casually playing the game and listening to a persons thoughts on stuff like this!
To me enhance rather normal or spellhance is the most fun spec in all of WotLK across all roles. Your rotation is never the same. You have to keep up lighting shield, flame shock, earth shock, stormstrike, totems, fire nova on a 3 sec CD, maelstorm proc prio which when you have 5 stacks if you press anything else is a dps lose, wolfs, lust, magma/fire ele totem, and if nothing else is available you have lava lash which gains in prio in T10. You have so many things to keep up, track, procs, priority, snapshot mechanics, totems, its the most active/fun spec by a big margin for me. You can do many diff things with your MS procs, your very mobile, you benefit from every single raid buff in the game both physical and magical based. Just super fun spec that is currently performing amazing on the beta. Top 1 dps in many instances via beta cleared raid logs. It scales super well too with every phase and often uses a lot of gear no one else wants. On top of being amazing buff fillers for 10 mans, having the best str/agi buff still even with a DK. Just a really great time to play enhance in WotLK IMO. It's the highest actions per minute spec in the entire expansion and reward skillful play on a whole different level compare to nearly all other specs. You are already a very high APM spec and you basically stack haste on top of that. Super fast, mobile, fun playstyle. I love it. I am biased towards melle tho. After playing melle going back to any caster just feels boring in comparsion. Melle just feels more active, you move more, its more dangerous, generally harder to play well, it just feels more active and fun to me. I mained nothing but casters in OG vanilla wow all the way until Legion. Finally tried melle in classic and could never go back personally. Cool list tho, pretty solid from my pov.
Great list - at the end of the day of course it is all so subjective - we all have different tastes and different preferences. For me - I mained a Demonology Warlock and plan to do so again come Wrath Classic (on a fresh server). It's not just Metamorphosis though (which imo is the coolest, most bad-ass spell/talent in the entirety of WoW - at least as long as I played it which was Cata). The execute phase of Demonology is insane too. You just spam crazy damage Soul Fires like there is no tomorrow and when you do this while in Meta form, it feels like the most extreme power in the game. In addition, the rotation is much more complex and it changes of course if you are doing single target dmg. or aoe and changes again when you proc Molten Core and during the execute phase with Decimation. As a Demo Lock you switch between Shadow bolts and Incinerates (when Molten Core procs) so there is that (2 different nukes alternating from Shadow to Flame like a Balrog). Like all Warlocks you also have pet management, soul stones, health stones, keeping up Life Tap (glyphed) and as a Demo lock you can sometimes even tank! With Demonic Pact you bring one of the most powerful raid buffs and can 99% secure a raid spot for that talent alone. It also means you will be high priority in receiving SP and Spirit loot. Love it!
@@tomasstraka5244 What part of my statement says they're the best or worst? Tanks are all overtuned for Wotlk. All tanks can clear all content and while paladins are BIS the gap between the rest of the tanks is quite small.
@@Alphascrub_77 Not going to lie, as a Prot Pala main the fun of Prot Warrior is unmatched by other tanks. Shockwave is so cool and you're the best DPS by far in dungeons... As a tank. It sucks for actual tanking but it sure is fun. Watching it instantly die when the boss sneezes at then is also fun for fellow tanks to watch. It spices up our job.
I just resubbed yesterday and picked up my t5 warrior. It's been a completely different experience i went from dreading each pull to chain pulling entire packs and easily holding threat. I put out more aggro than t6 paladins without even trying.
Guess i cant complain since its obviously subjective. But for me Arcane mage and Holy Pally belong in the tier of "id rather watch paint dry and pull out every hair on my body individually"
Arcane minmaxing on LDW and Sindra with proper spec is one of the most fun, and in my opinion the most fun, specs in the game, and with it one of the most difficult to play properly, but when it's played properly with proper spec, it is top DPS on both the encounters, even competing with Affly on Sindra

@@ophie2865 That's the thing, it's not 2 buttons, for Sindra for example, when minmaxing with a proper spec that only like 5 of us in the world use, somehow, idk how others haven't figured it out, I guess no one actually reads the talents on private servers, there are no minmaxers on private servers, it's around ~12 if I'm not missing anything off the top of my head, and for Fire, no matter the spec, it's ~11, and usually it's only 8 since Fire has to respect the mechanics or it dies, this is all ofc considering you play Troll, if you are any other race then just do -1

Stuff like POM or arcane power are not part of the rotation So what other spells you also use in the rotation. From top of my head you could put fireblast and icelance for some reason into rotation, but im pretty sure these will lower your DPS overall

Discipline is awesome dude. I love disc priest. Reading the flow of damage or predicting incoming damage and shielding just in time is sooo satisfying. Also Borrowed Time giving people haste is pretty cool too.
"Fun" is so subjective here. I played CoH priest though TBC which was super fun as the toolkit has so many nuanced reactive heals per situation, and proactive heals are also very rewarding. Wotlk holy will feel similar if not better. Playing disc in prepatch, I'm certain wotlk disc will be a LOT of fun for me. Would only be boring if you're blindly just keeping prayer of mending up and randomly shielding anyone/everyone. Get immersed&acquainted with encounters, be proactive, enjoy the utility you provide, 10/10 expect to have a blast. Oddly would not be that surprised if more spriests than hpriests from tbc went disc in wrath.
Excellent video. As a new player who never played WoW except 1-20 one day in MoP on a free trial, I really appreciate this approach. Super useful. The minmax-oriented guides don't really help a new player who wants to experience the whole game.
I only played holy priest to attempt to help my rogue buddy level not realizing I should've went holy paladin since healing pulls so much threat I hated my life for 35 levels... Got a really badass wand and this talent for mana and spirit regeneration after killing blow on mob and instantly had zero down time on mobs when solo whereas before I was drinking after every mob or two Thought once we hit late game I'd boost a warrior or roll a DK but atm I'm actually loving my holy priest A lot of people rate holy priest very low on tier lists for fun or for meta and im glad someone finally shed some light on not only how solid the class is but also how fun it is. Very impressed with how easily I can mob grind without stopping and crit heals in dungeons or last millisecond heals to stop a wipe feel awesome. It really does feel like I am in control of the dungeon. Where as on a tank a bad healer can wipe the group and there's nothing you can do about it
You're the first dude that could verbalize what I was thinking about unholy DK. I could never bring myself to play it and I still can't for wotlk classic although it is such a cool spec for the simple reason that it lacks a satisfying ability. Frost has howling blast at least, but that got stale quickly. I played ret pally and all the abilities just felt so juicy that unholy feels so passive to me.
I am playing this expansion for over 10 years now. I played every class in any spec and from my personal view the most fun dps specs are feral dps + affliction. It’s so many things to consider that it can be actually a bit challenging but also very satisfying.
Its kind of like rets switch roles a bit in wotlk. Right now they're all about that single target but in wotlk their cleave is just amazing. Their dps isn't the best till later i guess but they still look fun to play. Many raids will also probably still run one just because they bring 4 buffs to the raid. They make setting up a raid super easy, they're handy for splits as well. I'll likely miss twisting to as degree but I'm not interested on dwelling on something i cant change. They're still going to be fun.
Not having to worry about mana will be a nice change of pace also. Seal twisting has been the most fun I have had while raiding in WoW, but you can't have everything.
I enjoyed hearing your point of view. We are exact opposites on what we find fun, haha! But yeah thank goodness everyone finds enjoyment in different things.
in defense of prot pala: Utility can be really fun esp if you like using your whole kit. Clutch saving a healer with BoP is v enjoyable. Blessing of sac to preclude a CC is quite fun. Utility gives you more ways to be creative and use your game knowledge.
This was a great video. After hearing about how assassination rogues were the best dps spec, I took my rogue into her first dungeon last night. I hated the spec. Yes, it is powerful, but it feels like classic ret paladin. Then, you hit a judgment and then wait... with assn rogue, you garotte out of stealth to get your bleed, hit hunger for blood, mutilate and slice and dice and wait for the mob to die. Then, you have these damage abilities ticking away while you wait for the setup to refresh or you move to the next mob and you hit mutilate once. After having leveled a dk soloing blood furnace, this spec feels glacial. In nexus, I did 40% of the damage on the last boss (a single target tank and spank). Waiting a half hour to "feel powerful" isn't worth it to me. I feel like assn rogue is a level 80 raiding spec where bosses last long enough to actually have a rotation. Not unlike afflocks in classic. Going to try combat and see how it feels for leveling and dungeons
I’m gonna have a proud warrior, fire mage, spell Hance shaman, feral druid, and affliction warlock. So I’d say I have quite a few of the fun specs covered
For DK tanks you can easily just do HC dungeons in tank gear while in a full frost dps talent build. You’ll be more than tanky enough from gear alone and your aoe threat will almost be unmatched. Same thing goes for raid trash.
played wow since 2004, first time playing hunter in wotlk prepatch, leveled as BM, pvp as BM, have not tried any other spec yet. It is a lot of fun, and although I have green fresh 70 gear I have won some pvp fights by kiting + beastial wrath, pet pumps
I’ve never really had a good time playing my rogue but you made me think I’d like assassination because of not having to manually keep slice and dice up.
The only reason I leveled a rogue was so I'd be able to unlock my boxes. Of my 6 toons, he's always the last I'll play but even then I find that it's always more fun than I think it'll be. That being said, I'm not looking forward to leveling him at all.

Demo lock is definately one of the most fun spec to play in wlk. The excute phase made me come mutiple times during last week's sunwell speedrun. I felt like amma be the superme leader of the burning legion when I transform into a big purple demon.
I've been fire mage all of tbc. Crits super important to keep dps consistent but boy oh boy when you're critting it's so much fun. Even more fun coming in wrath
I have a few things that need checked off before I pick a class. 1: It has to be a class that has relatively easy gold farming capabilities. This goes for high efficiency while being possible to semi afk. 2: it has to make my dungeon finding easier, I don't got time to wait endlessly with my relatively limited gaming. 3: It has to somewhat be flavor off the month, it has to perform because I don't want to see myself at the bottom for any other reason then my own lack of skill. Based on those criteria's I will be Paladin main in wrath, holy ms (I love healing) and prot os (for farming). And I have the option of being ret if that happens to fill the above 3 criteria and is better then prot. This is my way of fun, doesn't mean anyone else agree
in original wrath my mains were holy priest for raid and prot warrior for dungeons, guess I lucked out and happened to play the most fun healer/tank! the new spells/rotations for all specs are impressive in wrath though, some really fun spec-defining stuff that feels very similar to how they still play now in the current game
Yea I just compared a 1-15 speed run on a warlock in tbc and then n the wrath beta. It’s amazing how different it feels now. Things die so much quicker and you don’t have to eat or drink because your mana and health bar never move. In tbc I had to pull 1 mob at a time until I got an imp and then was able to pull 2, drinking after every 2 pulls even with saving mana auto attacking when they hit low health. In the wrath beta I could pull 3 mobs at level one with no pet and could fire off all my spells while face tanking with no remorse for mana. Also It took half the time to finish Elwin at level 15 in the beta.
Im going to run a Paladin This time around and tank for glory. I ran Mage in TBC and Warrior in Vanilla. Something about the armor sets just gets me going :)
I’d disagree with the “fun” meter being defined by having an impactful cooldown on all specs. Retail took that philosophy way too far, and the result is a balance meta defined by specs doing little dps outside their CD windows. The tradeoff for strong CDs is a weak base rotation. What makes DK fun is that your base rotation is a constant-pressure rotation where the base abilities really slap. That’s my pitch anyway. Also 1H Unholy should be banned.
Why would you ban 1h unholy? If people want to find new and different ways to play their class then let them. Anything to keep people engaged and enjoying the class they choose is fine by me, and if they crush on the dps meters then all the better.

Yeah personally I'm not a big fan of tracking long cooldowns so I can have my 15 seconds of glory. That's why I'm leaning more towards frost DK than unholy. Frost has its cooldowns as well, but unholy dps makes or breaks depending on how they snapshot their gargoyle.
Most dumb fun ive ever had on a class is ret with t10 4 set + Tiny abom in a jar + bryntroll. So much damn fun just spitting out massive cleave numbers
As a fury player all of classic so far my zugzug brain zugzug'd so hard when I saw Titan's Grip. Of course I've been messin' around with Arms and Bladestorm is FUN A. F. But zugzug too stronk and went back to duel wielding my two handers. Slam procs are also still fun enough a shake up that I'm happy.
Legit, the only choice you made that I disagreed with was resto shaman and holy priest...id swap the 2 in my "fun to play" tier list. I mained both prot warr and resto shaman in wrath and it was the most fun I've ever had in wow...tho, ganking mfs in bc as a sub rogue was close. Was a fun tier list vid to watch. GG.
regarding resto shaman, imo the best most fun resto was in Legion! maybe it was because of the visual and animation updates to spells not just the new artefact weapon talents, but I had a blast as resto then.
For affliction spell power is not supposed to get snapshotted with corruption. Only % crit (potion of wild magic, focus magic) and % damage (tricks of the trade) buffs get snapshotted. Same with shadow priests and shadow word pain
Paladin, warrior and DK the most fun class to play for new players, rogue and mage the most fun for those that one a little challenge in the game, Druid fun but the only people that would start as a Druid aren’t normal, locks are mid and priest are mid, hunters also pretty fun. 😅
From what I can see - Arms will be stronger than fury to start on baseline skills and similar gearing. In phase 8 this will start to change significantly and by the end of wrath fury should be insane, with arms dropping off significantly.
For once I more or less agree with all that is said. I don't know all the specs but I love that you give some light to fun-but-underpowered specs like BM hunter and holy priest. In S tier, feral dps and affliction are a given, but I appreciate that you put prot and arms warrior up there too, those two really pop off in wrath. Ret paladin deserves its place in very fun at least just for the fact that it's gameplay becomes incredibly fun with the tier-10 proc that gives instant storms.
I like playing whatever is fun to me, which doesn’t deviate far from other people, but also like to play the underdog because when you win, you really win and it feels rewarding - talking about pvp of course. And when you lose, well you have an excuse for losing, lol.
Arcane may not be fun but the dps it can do in T10 is absurd. other classes are doing cute 12k crits while arcane is over there cranking 30k arcane blast crits over and over. Its because T10 set 4 gives 18% damage for 30 seconds if you use mirror images. stacked with icy veins to get more spells out, stacked with arcane power for a 20% multiplier on that as well, stacked with some sort of bonus spellpower trinket, stacked with mana gem spellpower talent. You basically activate 5 CDs and begin to nuke. If heroism is popped then you basically hit for 15k regular per hit and 30k per crit. Also set 2 bonus gives you an almost permanent haste buff if you use missles then 3-4 arcane blast then missiles over and over. So your blast will cast really fast, Somewhere in the ballpark of 1.3-1.45 second cast. Arcane isn't very fun at the start, your mana pool struggles to break 20k in starting gear so you can't spam as many blast per burst phase. Your evocations scale from your mana as well so its only 12k mana at the start but later on its 18k+
Not tried 1 handed unholy but I never intended to not use a two hander. I like the ghoul/gargoyle interaction despite not being much of a lover of pet classes
The main issue with boomy in terms of 'fun' is simply that they're an incredibly immobile caster that doesn't even get to perform at the top even when played to near perfection. I'd say that definitely factors into the fun-ness of a spec. Plus as far as the eclipses go and as far as perfecting your rotation goes, it again doesn't feel -as- rewarding as, say, the (fire) mage or the affli lock goes. Those specs feel absolutely amazing when played to near perfection.
Btw snap shotting is not bugged on the beta at all, Its just you think it is because on Warmane the scripting was terrible. When you renew a buff or dot like corruption or slice and dice they do not keep the AP or attack speed they had when you cast them. That is not a bug. No one with half a brain will take the talent to auto refresh slice and dice with enveom. Doing that will remove your attack speed/haste snap shot on slice and dice taking your slice and dice from 110-120% attack speed if you built it correcly to 40%. Its pretty clear that you havent learnt all the tricks you can do with rogue yet, but yes you are mostly waiting for weapon procs and then pump potion of speed and hyperspeed tinker and troll bezerking all together to get a sick haste stack and then blade flurry and lastly a 5 point slice and dice with the slice and dice glyph to make it last as long as possible. You dont do attack skills very often but being at 300+ attack speed when your haste buffs proc and 200+ the rest of the time feels great. Also your often doing more damage in pre bis than people in full t8. so if you like watching damage meters ass is fun.
No way that Combat is more fun than Assassination. In simplicity there it not much difference, but for me the whole rotation back in retail Wotlk felt so perfect and satisfying for me. It made also so much damage. Combat felt more like a fury warrior without two handed weapon and it was nearly identical to TBC. Assassination was a new experience for me and it was just fun!
There's definitely more complexity to combat. Still not insanely hard, but assa automatically refreshing snd and only using a single builder and a single generator makes it extremely dull. The opener is like 4 buttons and from there you spam 2 buttons + refresh your dmg buff once a minute. Meh, dullest melee by far. Combat atleast has CDs and three finishers to balance out.
agreed, even if the rotations are similar, just spamming the same ability that you started at level 1 with isn't appealing to me at all. And the flavor of assass rogues is a lot better - stabbing poisons and stuff into the backs of enemies, keeping up buffs and debuffs, etc
what makes enha even more fun is that with talents and glyph fire nova CD is only 3 seconds, crazy cleave. i would suggest people to get dual talents and make a aoe and single target spec for enha.
I think everyone is playing bdk wrong, instead of speccing for tank, do the FULL dps blood spec something like 51/0/20 or 53/0/18 if you want to get wotn and be an ok offtank and it’s a lot of fun, huge heart strike crits and like 40% crit rate. And yes, it’s an easy rotation, 1 and 2 get your dots up, 3 is heart strike which you basically just spam, and then 4 death strike when you can’t heart strike, and 5 refresh your diseases. Of course there is also the obliterate version of the spec which replaces death strike with obliterate, but imo that gives up a lot of self healing just for some slightly bigger numbers (and no longer needing to keep a 25 RP reserve, you just dump ALL your RP because you glyph obliterate instead of DS). But yea. Even though it’s basically just 5 buttons, it’s still really fun.
I'm playing Fury but when I saw that Arms has sudden death, I got very jealous lol. Slam procs arn't as satisfying as the execute procs. But I also find it more fun to dual wield. I'd wanna try a one handed version of arms but maybe that'd be crazy haha
sup, me here on another account. I tried out arms but with one handers and it's so good dude. keeping up rend for overpower procs and then getting those juicy execute procs. my god it's so satisfying
Even though I love the fact that he talks about fun and not about power, I don’t think anyone should make a decision based on this video as it’s extremely subjective. Someone who’s been playing healers for a long time, my view on healer fun ranking is completely the opposite of this. So just make sure you try the classes and specks you find interesting and don’t make decisions based on his list.
