Fun Way to Add Glitter to Coloring Books | A Super Sparkly Adult Coloring Tutorial

So. Much. Sparkle. This may not be the simplest or neatest way to add glitter to adult coloring book pages, but it's probably the sparkliest. I've never seen so much glimmer! I love how you addressed your chipped nail polish. I have made videos and have thought about not making them because my nails are not perfect. I have given up... don't care about my chipped nail polish anymore. Haha! I love glitter! I use Stickles on absolutely EVERYTHING.

Glitter is always fun no matter the mess! So pretty! You can spray it with hair spray or a fixative to keep the glitter from coming off. Thanks for sharing! 💖

I've used Stickles and it takes practice to get it right. Then there's the times when the glitter doesn't flow out of the nozzle! I agree less is more. Isn't it fun to play with new stuff? Happy coloring and stay safe.💖

I use these exact supplies and the exact process you used for my cards and coloring pages. I like the dimension that it adds and there are more color options in glitter than in my sparkle gel lens etc. I like glitter in general, so if there is fallout I am not noticing 😄.

This was such a great idea. I found a pack of 10 glitter glue tubes at Walmart for $1.27. They are tubes of clear glue w/fine glitter in them. The tip of the tube is a little bigger than the pen you used in the video. I find them very easy to use in coloring books.

I am not brave enough to glitter at this point in my adult coloring journey, but I enjoyed this presentation. I just purchased some Derwent metallic pencils as well as a Gelly Roll Stardust clear pen for now.

Hi Erin. I use Stickles, frequently, but I actually DON'T like them for large areas. When working on a large area, I color it, then put a coat of glitter Mod Podge over it. It works well, as the Mod Podge is glittery, but transparent.

I've never tried the glitter one but I'm going to keep an eye out for it. I just ordered some sort of glitter paint from Blick, too. DecoArt? I'll show you when it comes in. :)

I use embossing powder, it’s very fine glitter and beautiful when you use your heat gun on it. Some of the embossing powder will puff up but others simply melt into the paper. I have to get the glue sticks!

Thank you for the video Erin. Very interesting. I don't use stickles too much either. But I finished a page today and used a small amount of the diamond stickles. I did spray the workable fixitive over it because I also. Had a pastel background. The fixitive does work fine over the stickles but it takes some of the sparkle away.

Thanks for letting me know about the shine disappearing a bit. I may try my kamar varnish spray, then. It's got a satin finish rather than matte, so maybe it won't kill the shine as much.

You can also seal it with coat of clear nail polish so that after time the glitter doesnt come off me and the kids do that with different craft projects and for larger areas we use an extra strength craft bond glue stick..... also you mention other products but I didn't hear you talk about the spectrum noir glitter brush pens I'm curious if you have got to try those out and what you think of them I am about to order some to try out I'v heard great things especially about the clear another product I wondered if you've used is the mod podge glitter and then even add more glitter to that I'v only seen one person use that so I'm not sure wht to think

Hi, when are you going to be doing more videos on colored pencils & doing chats? I'm new to your show & also new to your facebook group as I recently joined. I'm very much into coloring with pencils and am very new to shading. I've been catching up on your videos as much as I can. Also, have you used Cra Z Art colored pencils yet?? I'm using them and I find they are really good & the colors pop out on the page. I go back & forth from Cra Z Art & Crayola Pencils. I wondered if you can do a video with Cra Z Art pencils too?? I'm physically disabled so I have a lot of time on my hands & I love to color as it's relaxing & fun. Hope to see more videos from you real soon as I enjoy your chats & your facebook group. ;)

I think i would use embossing glitter and heat set it with your heat tool. Its glittery, it won’t fall off and a bit smoother surface than actual glitter once set.

I'll have to look for some embossing glitter! This actually dried fairly flat, and I can always spray with fixative, too. But if embossing glitter works better, I'm always down to try it!

I LOVE how excited you get about trying new techniques, it’s such lovely viewing! However.....My amazon wish list has got huge recently - two more items added 😂 Question - have you ever used the W&N India Ink (in a pot)? Have just got some gold ink to add detailing to pages so would be interested to see how you would use it!

Hi Erin I see you like sparkles I do also have you tried the Pentel sparkle pens and they have Krazy pens which is a kinda a mix of two colors they are both really sparkly and they write so smooth just thought I would tell you about them in case you haven't tried them I really love them I got some from Amazon but they also sell them at hobby lobby 😁😂 have a blessed day

I wonder if spraying hairspray on the glitter once it's dry would help "set" it and prevent it from coming off the paper.

You know, I thought about that. I have some spray fixative and varnish, and I plan doing another vid when I actually put glitter on a finished page, so we can find out together when I do! Good idea!
