27-year-old Barnaby Dixon from southwest England is an enthusiastic animation artist and puppeteer. His videos, featuring his own finger puppets, are a huge online success.
A LOT of the appeal is due to the incredible wit and love for the craft that Barnaby exudes in the performances - to say nothing of his undeniable charm and looks.
Why do so many if these comments suck? I love this video, I love your work. The construction of your puppets is a beautiful thing! And so is how you think outside the box. LOVE the Raptor❤️
Dabchick isn't a chicken lol. Dabchick is a dabchick. A type of water bird. If you're going to correct people, then at least make sure you know what you're talking about kiddo
Tara Jardine Because then Barnaby loses the originality of his characters. Maybe mass producing some basic characters would work, but selling dabchicks in stores would kind of rob him of his personality. At least, that's my thoughts on it.
+Bad Request Yeah, there's almost no way another Dabchick could come into existence, but, what about character concept? Puppet archetype? Base models with joints and mechanisms, but no face, like a personal ball-jointed doll or posable art dummy. That the new owner could manipulate, customize, mix models, et cetera. It does sound like an idea, for little kids who admire and seek to bring the same joy to people as Barnaby does. He's great, could be greater.
He's tried that, he was getting involved with companies to make them, but ultimately they said no because their belief is that a toy should be facing the child playing with it, not turned away.
He doesn’t sell them sadly, it takes him about 1 month to make them. Also, it has to be perfect to your hands or it won’t fit and move around as good I think :)
