I just checked today. On Amazon, they are asking $730 for this machine. K-mart has it for $360. Walmart is out of stock. The price in this video, 4 payments of $45 would be a bargain today. Guessing this machine will not be available anymore soon.
1:19 Unfortunately, for most movies, you cannot dub the VHS Movies directly to a DVD,because of the message in the screen: "This video is copyprotected. This video cannot be recorded". It also applies to Pay Per View TV Shows and movies from HBO,Showtime,etc..
this vcr dvd combo is great but i would not use it to convert as an all in one. i prefer to use software to correct sound and picture quality .. However i highly recommend it for its HDMI output
I have this exact unit. I just bought a new video camera that I'm using for family videos and church plays. The problem is that you can only watch what you've recorded by using an HDMI cable. There's nothing on the recorder that has that. I can play it on my TV but I need a way to record what is showing on my TV.
BamaDan197319 That’s what I’ve been looking for...have vcr/dvd connected to smart tv, will play all my vhs tapes and dvds but will not record...have tried numerous ways to connect but no luck.
In Europe the TV's come equipped with USB recording capability.....so in America those billionaire freaks that run copyright paranoid Hollywood studios are responsible for this ....btw digital to analog converter USB drive recorder boxes or HDMI capture cards might be able to overcome that problem
Caveat Emptor! These Junk Boxes should be outlawed! Regardless of brand (I believe there are 5) they are all made by the same company AND are a BIG waste of money! You buy this at your own risk! Originally, I found these at Walmart for under $200. Now, some greedy sellers are listing these upwards of $600! This is due to a panic by buyers because the company, I believe - Funai, quit making them. Why can't they make a decent product? After enough people discover the truth about these crappy units, they may even bring a class-action lawsuit against the manufacturer. I hope the company goes out of business due to thievery. DON'T buy Chinese!
Record them to DVR ( if you use that service) and from there output the DVR to DVD Recorder inputs...alternatively attach a USB TV tuner to your computer to get OTA channels and use capture cards, online screen recorders etc to record them
