A conversation about Psilocybin is needed. Micro dosing can be a massive help to people with Anxiety and Depression. Another plant based solution rather than big pharma
So we'll just ignore the fact that its the one thing that can truly "wake" people up, FUN FACT: One of the Governments biggest fears is the water supply being spiked with LSD, I wonder why..?
And green plants-medicinal herbs. You find fungus is different than that too? I've heard that humans are closer to fungus biologically. Ever heard of Findhorn Garden ? Or the book, "The Secret Life of Plants"?
What a great example of a favorite quote of mine, 'As long as you live, keep learning how to live.' You are such a good example of a life long learner - someone with a TRUE passion for learning and sharing with others. Thank you!
Love how this fella GREW on confidence at the vid went on... when he knew he had a smart fella, John!...who was asking genuinely! He found his feet...BLOODY BRILLIANT!!!...ALSO Mushrooms.... The Mycelium... best thing for everything natural. ..In SO MAY WAYS X
As someone who has worked at the farm I can honestly say Alex's passion, knowledge and attention to detail is like no other. He kindly sposers myself and a few other athelets and we find the tinctures to be a great help.
The best way of consuming herbs and mushrooms are always natural ways like tea's and food produce that meds and pills ducktape like stuff will just put your body systems to a strain, a halt and a reliance on those meds and pills even those natural chems extraction methods shove that far away bruh 😪
Had a heart attack Dec 2020 right before the vax rollout & thank goodness I didnt get the shots when i saw the blood clotting issues with 2 new stents put in me. Was supposed to be on Lipitor(statin) & Rampiril for blood pressure for life. Researched the harm these meds do long term & went natural. I take Turkey Tail, Reishi, Maitake, Shittake & Lions Mane. 1 teaspoon of each everyday in my smoothies. I stopped taking the statin 3 years ago & have been testing my cholesterol every 9 months, cholesterol levels are great, just below normal. For the last 2 years I have been off any blood pressure meds. I ramped up getting my nitric oxide levels with beet root extracts & powders. My blood pressure is normally in the 110/65 & heart rate in the 70's. Im 65 now. Had Covid once took a week to get over, that was last November. I do 5000iu's of D3 with 200 mcg of K2. Rarely get sick even thru Covid. I do blood test for D levels & run around 72. Mushrooms work!!!!
I would be interested in finding out where you get the supply and how you take it as I am on blood pressure medication and had to stop statins as they virtually crippled me with joint and muscle pain.
@@sdm197 Was on a high dose of Ramipril(blood pressure)5mg & Lipitor(Astorvastatin)80mg for first year after my heart attack. My wife was on Crestor(another popular statin) for 8 years & she was experiencing huge issues with her muscles & joints & couldnt lift her arms. She stopped taking them when I did & within 2 months she felt 15 years younger & was getting mobility back. I knew long term on the statin was probably going to do the same thing to me. I researched both big time & the pandemic showed me to follow the money not what was best for our health. I researched the mushrooms while still on the statin & was implementing that in my smoothies & immediately stopped after my 1 year check up with the cardiologist. I rechecked my cholesterol 6 months after & found I was in normal results. My doctor agreed no need to be on a statin if cholesterol is normal. So I remained off the statins going forward. Thing to know is a huge portion of the bad cholesterol isnt from diet but is produced by your liver as a fatty bile. What the mushrooms do is attach to this bile & lets you poop out the bad cholesterol so to speak. I will eat pizzas & have steak & eat lots of things I had before, just less. Being 6'1" weighing 215 before the heart attach, I dropped 20 pounds within 4 weeks after the heart attack & now 4 & half years later Ive maintained a weight of 192 & feel great. I walk about 10000 steps a day. My Golden retriever doesnt allow me to take any breaks lol. If you do the research, mushrooms were actually the first statin. The Blood Pressure med you are on will do similar long term nasty side effects as well. But I was way more careful to wean off that. I was taking 5mg Ramipril per day. So the prescription I had was pills that were 2.5mg's I took twice a day. I did a bunch of research of the importance of Nitric Oxide in your body & one of the best sources of that is beetroot. So I was taking a glass of beetroot powder first thing every mornig. At lunch I put another tsp of beetroot powder in my smoothie every day as well & I had beetroot gummies I will pop in the afternoon or evening when needed. I have my own blood pressure machine I monitor my bp 3-4 times a day. If I ran high (usually anything over 130) I popped a few gummies & it usually corrected after about an hour. Every 3 months I cut the Ramipril doseage by half. My pharmacist was great & they would label the increase number of daily pills to take to keep within the prescription, I just decided to take fewer pills accordingly until I met with doctor & got him to revise my prescription as well. After 9 months I took the plunge & went off the Ramipril completely when I consistently saw BP reading of 105-115/58-68. The only thing I take since my heart attack is 1 baby aspirin in the mornings. Thats the only thing I take. Beetroot powder you can get at lots of retail places like Walmart, Healthfood stores & even on Amazon.
I'm a md. I'm almost 90 years old. I'm in rather good shape. 2 Years ago I got breast cancer, probably following my third covid jab. During the 2month I was waiting waiting for surgery, I didn't feel like allowing the very aggressive tumor to grow further on. So I took 2 to four caps a day of Maitake, Grifola frondosa mushroom. After surgery, it turned out that the tumor in these 2 months had lost a 20% of its volume and was reclassified as little aggressive. Hurrah. Thats the power of mushrooms. No side effects whatsoever.
Been taking 6 different ones for three years now. I have bipolar so I struggled to finish projects and was not getting on well at all. It's helped that, my cognitive abilities have improved too. I feel lost without them now. If I go through a week without any, after that the brain fog return's. Completely underrated in my opinion
No, if they can't be grabbed and patented, they get ignored or suppressed - much like many patients in the allopathic present system. If you want to be shocked, look up about Dr. Sebi in 1980s NYC, curing people of HIV/AIDS.
@@De5O54 Hahaha! There were a couple of local growers who produced small packs of mixed mushrooms, and the other different chillies, including one so hot it came with a pair of plastic gloves, sold in local shops. Presumably went out of business during the lockdowns.
Friends of mine have a dog that was diagnosed a few years back with a blood type cancer and was given only a short time to live. My friends ignored the vet and give the dog regular reishi and turkeytale mushrooms (don't know in what form) and the dog is still doing very well.
I hope the vet was suitably mortified - and even curious - when he was presented with the evidence of his errors in the shape of the healthy dog . . . ?
I got fascinated with mushrooms back in 74' from the experimental music of John Cage known as 'Mushroom Identification' . Mushrooms have a similar DNA to humans & they consume oxygen like humans too, they are bloody amazing. Glad you did this thanks John.
I've been researching medicinal mushrooms since October last year (a family member was diagnosed with cancer). I've given them a very high dose regimen of MANY high-grade extracts. Cancer-free now. Tolerated chemo BRILLIANTLY.
Thank you, thank you. This is a really important topic. These medicinal shrooms are miracle remedies if taken in a proper way as a part of a proper human diet.
I am taking Lions Mane and Chaga everyday in coffee format. Life changer. It keeps the edge of modern life at bay and boosts focus and a clear mind. A great video. Thank you 🎉.
It's refreshing that more and more people are finally catching on to how powerful they are as I started learning about them around 1998. I thought for sure they would be a standard of care after witnessing profound things within my family. From stage 4 cancer to fibromyalgia and other autoimmune related challenges. Unfortunately most companies out there do not have chemistry knowledge or experience, and are not manufacturing them correctly, destroying most of the beneficial compounds. I personally take Tria Alchemy extracts after trying a lot of different ones without much noticeable effects. I have yet to find anything else with higher strength or efficacy...
@@pinkbutterfly1960 the pain, fatigue, brain fog became less noticeable, and was able to sleep a lot better, until eventually became symptom free. We'd tried a few brands and noticed they weren't working that well. (if you get liquid tinctures and notice them to be rather transparent like weak coffee- they are not going to work well at all. They need to be very dark to the point you cannot see through them even under light. Powders worked ok, but had to take a LOT, which became very expensive. My family and me personally take Tria Alchemy, who also has various herbs incorporated with the mushroom extracts for various health concerns and I highly recommend. You'll notice a lot of products out there with similar or even identical ingredients, but they just aren't strong enough to get much noticeable results. Also, if you look it up, you'll see lots of published medical info about fibromyalgia and some of those same ingredients, such as Reishi mushroom for example. I hope this helps!
@@NightmareCo666 I left a detailed reply above... There are definitely answers to your condition and I know exactly how you feel! The various functional mushrooms can help, along with certain herbs...they just need to be strong enough, you have to take enough, and be consistent with it. It's not a "try" for a month type of situation. Conditions like fibromyalgia and other autoimmune disorders (or any other health problem), didn't get that way overnight and arent' going to magically disappear overnight either- so keep that in mind... Wishing you a speedy recovery! 🙏🏼
One thing I've learned the hard way and wish that I could get all the money back that I wasted over the years on supplements... With "tinctures" or liquid extracts- If they are transparent at all... do NOT waste your money, as they are very watered down, and usually way too much alcohol, with very little amounts of actual extract. They need to be super dark and no light should pass through them. Think of it like weak coffee (isn't going to do much). As for powders and capsules...they usually only have part of the beneficial compounds that you need, and the majority are mass produced from China. Also, with any mushroom supplement- when you see "fruiting body only"- it is almost always going to be manufactured by amateurs new to the industry. The mycelium which makes the mushrooms even happen, contain very beneficial components that the mushrooms themselves do not have. My health issues improved drastically when I started taking the higher strength product that also contains mycelium. The supplement industry is polluted with amateurs trying to make a quick buck, with no real knowledge and will convince people that aren't aware of these factors with hype and fancy marketing. I hope this helps people out there so you can get the results you want. 🙏🏼
I can attest to the value of the Stamets Stack, a concoction of Paul Stamets comprised of Psilocybe cubensis, Lions Mane and Niacin. In the past two years of microdosing my memory has gone from normal hazy to astute, sharp and with much faster results. My mood has been far better as well, as I spent about 2 years with anxiety and depression before trying the “stack”. I am not taking enough of the former to have hallucinations or other strange effects, the general feeling is one of concentration and focus. I get a lot more done in less time! Thanks for delving into REAL medicine!
I've been using Paul Stamets mushrooms for years. Sure has made a difference in my life. I should like to try Alex's brand of tinctures just to see if there is a difference. I also look forward to micro dosing with psychedelics for anxiety and depression.
Welcome to the Isle of Wight 😊 20 years plus I’ve been on a high dose of Prozac, very depressed,no energy, slowly came off them and onto Lions main.. the difference is incredible in one month of how I am is amazing.. (tablet)…😊
Take the step my friend. Growing mushroom is so very very interesting and fun. Even if you just go buy the ready to fruit bags you poke holes in or go deeper as this gentleman does, it's a crazy interesting thing to do. Somewhere I once read spores are found in samples from outer space, wouldn't it be crazy if mushrooms came from other planets etc, they sure seem otherworldly in a way. Anyway blessings to you and yours, happy days.
I had instant mental relief from reishi powder, it took perhaps 5-10minutes but that's almost instant if you ask me, it was as if my brain completely changed channel. The weird thing is, if I stop taking it, I don't get cold turkeys, but after some days, my old symptoms come back. I also enjoy combining with theanine, ashwagandha and melatonin for sleep. Lionsmane makes me feel really weird mentally, like brain foggy and a bit nervous, definitely not for me. I also take turkey tale (Coriolus powder) for gut health, I go on and off with this one. Chaga gave me headache, so I stopped using that. Reishi is by far one of my fav mushrooms. For cooking/eating I love brown botton mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms made in butter or steamed.
I’ve been foraging these mushrooms for over a decade. I do a double extraction… make a tincture with a 76% alcohol & a steeped tea, and mix them 1:1. There’s something very magical about knowing the woods around me! Many medicinal herbs too.
According to Chinese and Japanese cultures have been using various mushrooms for different illnesses including cancers and for longevity over 2000 years ago.
Wow! Dr. Campbell is branching out. Specific Beta Glucans are used as adjuncts to cancer treatments in clinical settings. PSP and PSK are both found in Turkey Tail mushroom extract. Unlike other medicinal mushrooms like Chaga and Reishi, which are very bitter, Turkey Tail is delicious. I mix the extract in every cup of coffee. I gives it a boost of flavor. Cordyceps, another potent mushroom, is also somewhat tasty. Tastes a bit like coco. Turkey tail has an earthy mushroom flavor that goes so well with coffee. Paul Stamets, the mushroom guru, has said Turkey Tail helped put his mother's breast cancer into remission. I'm a cancer survivor. I take it prophylactically to guard against a recurrence. Been more than ten years now. My 5 year survival rate was a 1 in 3 chance I wouldn't make it that long.
wonderfully video dr john and isle of white mushy farm .all the fairys dance and sing as they see the humans healing themselves so they can come out to play again. fairy x
I am really enjoying this tour and conversation. It's not only very informative, but just plain enjoyable. Thank you Dr. Campbell for bringing us on this field trip! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I must add: decades ago I made my "pro gradu" about mushrooms as I had enthusiastically collected them for delicacy since childhood. So I also had a project and looked for financing when at uni = to grow mushrooms for human consumption AND methods to add protein production to use the rest of the material to feed domestic animals and use farm waste products at the same time (NOT manure which will be needed as a fertilizer to grow all foods) - a large international company won the financing competition but they ended up only to produce edible mushrooms, while they tried to sneak my innovations - but I managed to keep my secrets :) But as I said then (around 1993-4): this will be humanity´s saving grace in the future = part of resource recycling needed to save corps to humans.
Whew, I’m watching this as soon as I’m done with my study session! Thanks Dr. Campbell, I’m very interested in learning about mushrooms and you bring content one can trust 😊!
Just a personal opinion, but in the UK, we have been informed for many generations, that all mushrooms are dangerous and also that you must not touch any you find in nature. I was taught what to pick by a wonderful Polish friend and since her basic advice, I have expanded my knowledge and now know about 15 species that can be safely foraged and eaten. If you are not confident in foraging, you should not pick anything, but the knowledge is easy enough to gain and it is a very rewarding pastime in the summer and autumn. We need a fungi renaissance in the UK. This is just my personal opinion of course.
Absolutely. Here in Poland it's obvious that people go foraging mushrooms in the woods during summer and autumn, there's a whole culture around it, and it's just fun to do, very relaxing and an occasion for families to actively spend time together surrounded by pure nature. And then you also get delicious food for the whole year from your dried and pickled mushrooms 😋
A knowledgeable friend took me foraging about 50 years ago. There are actually only a few poisonous ones and plenty of edible ones BUT there are some that taste like crap and just one can ruin an entire meal so be careful!
Fascinating. Didn’t think I’d watch the whole video but you could see his clear passion. Watched the whole thing and now I’m going to be searching for more mushroom content!
Functional mushrooms do amazing things. Psilocybin mushrooms in combination with something else (?) are being studied for use in Alzheimer's patients. They actually promote neural regeneration.
Thanks for exploring Fungi. Please also interview Merlin Sheldrake on your podcast. He wrote, “Entangled Life: How fungi make our worlds, change our minds and shape our futures”. You might also consider interviewing Paul Stamets, who wrote “Fantastic Fungi: How Mushrooms Can Heal, Shift Consciousness, and Save the Planet”
I take Agarikon Turkey tail cordyceps Lions mane Turemic Magnesium Zinc Vit c Vitd3 and k2 I was on a 8 weekly transfusion of infliximab For severe ulcerative colitis and would have severe side effects Since taking the mushrooms I'm no longer on any medication and my ulcerative colitis has gone
I love medicinal mushrooms, i used to buy mushroom complex 6, now i buy those mushrooms in individual bags, add turkey tail, put a quarter of a teaspoon of each in soup 👌👌👌
So happy to see you in this video, I've been making tinctures for a good few yrs now and I make amanita muscaria tincture and balm it's great for pain and inflammation, yey we're told it's poisonous, it's helping many people including me right now with a gum infection waiting for the hospital to remove 2 teeth.
I’m 51. Diagnosed with ADHD at 38. I’m unable to take ADHD medication but discovered lions mane last year. I take a high dose and find it helps me so much and noticed the difference from about day 3. I have read a lot about microdosing of Psilocybin mushrooms and wish that this fantastic, natural remedy was available to me for treatment of my anxiety and ptsd 🙏🏻
Brilliant! I started growing mushrooms 2 years ago and have never looked back- once they get going you have fresh, health giving exotic mushrooms in plentiful supply. There are so many dimensions to a healthy lifestyle, so thanks for taking this broad view and sharing it John!
Wish i knew your were on the isle of wight, id of hooked you up with a complimentary dinner at a lovely restaurant 👍 very coincidental content from you today, i was talking about this guy from this farm about 8 hours ago with a buddy of mine :)
@@earthangel2524 oyster mushrooms are the easiest by far and extremely delicious! my go-to channel is called freshcap mushrooms, that's where i learned to grow them in a big bucket :)
It's easier than most people realize. The most important thing is keeping everything sterile when inoculating. There are a lot of videos on RU-vid. If you are interested in growing mushrooms, find a video for the specific mushrooms you want to grow. These videos will have better info on what exactly is needed for the specific type of mushroom you're growing. If you are worried about the start up costs, you can do a simple Uncle Ben or Spiderman tech (the shelf stable cooked bags of rice are sterile and can be inoculated directly in the bag, it does cost more in the long run than sterilizing your own grain, but it's helpful to see if this is something you want to do). This is usually discussed for the magical kind, but it can be used for other types of mushrooms. Reddit is a great resource for info on growth mushrooms. The magic mushroom community is usually nice and are willing to help people grow any type of mushroom. This same community frequently has a list of trusted vendors to buy spores from (any spores, I'm not suggesting anyone do anything illegal). Even though this community focuses on the magic kind, the info can be really helpful in growing medicinal and gourmet mushrooms. There are a lot of tips on how to grow mushrooms without having to have the full set up that professional growers have, as depicted in the video. There are a lot of resources out there to help people get started. Oyster mushrooms (I'm particularly fond of blue oysters) can be fun to grow and you can grow them out of a 5 gallon buckets you get at the hardware store after putting holes in the sides. I hope this is helpful for anyone wondering where to look for info about growing mushrooms.

This is fascinating. The extraction process sounds complicated to say the least. We used to pick mushrooms in the Welsh hills when we were children. Horse fields seem to have the most. They were always best eaten on the day they were picked. I tried magic mushroom (Psilocybin Mushrooms) later in life at about age 24 but didn't like them. They keep you awake too long. Some people picked them to hallucinate, one girl said she saw sparks coming out her shoes, but I didn't get that, I never hallucinated. Apparently it has same effect as LSD that I tried once, a friend gave it to me on a small piece of thin cardboard at a disco. My first thoughts were that it would do nothing. But it just kept me awake too long. The use of magic mushrooms most likely dated back to Stonehenge days. People have used them around the world in spiritual ceremonies.
I have been microdosing for 2 yrs & after a few months, my fibromyalgia pain was greatly diminished. After taking a break for a few months, the pain has returned so, I'm going to re-start. Didn't seem to help with my CPTSD but I think I will increase the dose. Would love to try the clinical full-load experience. Huberman has good episode concerning that process.

Thank you Dr. Campbell and Alex Kent! Wonderful video!! Adaptogens can do wonderful things, medicinally. I've been using them for many years; organically grown lion's mane, cordyceps, reishi, chaga, agaricus blazei and others. I mix the powdered form in with my warm organic coffee or raw organic cacao every day. Very effective (along with proper nutrition and exercise) in mitigating symptoms of chronic illness and/or boosting overall health.
Shrooms are incredible, my partner and i enjoy our forays and photography of any we find on our local woodland walks, i have to say she has a `nose`for certain species !which never ceases to amaze me , excellent video john ,great stuff !👍 but the clear caveat being ,never eat anything you can`t identify with 100% accuracy.
We are sooo grateful, Dr Campbell for your wonderful videos… not to mention your integrity, a quality the world needs so much of these days… Amazing and really useful content. Thank you and may the forces help and protect you always so we can benefit from your wisdom and kindness for a long time to come! ❤
