Funny thing is when people create a functional programming language, based on what needs in the real world, people start adding procedural and oo stuff in, eventually all languages are hybrid.
Excellent video! You answered some questions I had about functional languages. I'm from Philosophy, I don't know coding, but I´ve read "Structure and Interpretation of programming languages" and I became very interested about LISP and its dialects.
I am really thankful for the subs! Very interesting and hope to study programming related career. She is really charismatic and really give me motivation to try the career.
@Gabriel G Kabelen What did you do with the "knowledge" you gained, friend ? I'm just curios. Did you wrote your first Erlang/Elm program that supported a simple but effective webapp ?
@@paulspl2581 I myself was reading about functional programming and other intermediary paradigm and the fall of OOP and so on for just 3 days, and I knew more than she was talking into that interview. Yes, she's a philosopher, but even then, it's not an excuse to tell few things in a whole amount of time, today is not the time to waste it on empty and poetical words, but to say something correct, challenging and simple, and most important, practical, if you can, this is how you can gain value for others that are listening. I myself, being an analytical person, found more pertinent conclusions that her in just three days, would you listen to me if I would express them in a week of non-sense talking ?! Cheers, friend !
