I know the content is the point, but seeing that pic of Trane going up the stairs to the stage at the Newport Jazz Fest in the background is freaking cool.
cool shit miles. i have a habit of speeding up youtube tutorials by 1.25 or 1.5 since they're so often lacking in content and forgot i left this on 1.5 and was quite impressed once you started shredding all downstrokes that fast.
I have been playing drums on my guitar for over 30 years. I routinely bring in piano, bass, and percussion techniques into my guitar playing. This is awesome to see! You are so much more advanced than I am, but I believe we both think alike when it comes to progressing on our instruments. Great information! Thanks, Miles! 🐰🙏🤘🎸
Hey, i got the book and its awesome. I have a question: wouldnt the single stroke motion be more efficient the other way (for example, down on the A string and up on D string), as its less distance to go with the pick? Hope you see this and btw the coda in volcano is the best moment in music history
@miles I just ordered your book and hope this is addressed. I’m realizing that when playing these notes in the same way you are I do symmetrical picking as you do, but lack the speed. Would you suggest practicing the same exercise with a metronome (or not?) every day to get more fluid or maybe the book gives exercises for achieving picking speed?
Hi thanks for ordering. This certainly is sdddressed, in a big section of the book. Speed comes through repetition at slow tempo with metronome and gradual increases.
