Ideally, all modes of PT work together with convenient interchanges to create a fully networked effect. Although, geography, zoning and politics can have a huge impact on public transport decisions. Increasing frequency, vehicle capacity and number of stops/ stations increases operating and maintenance costs. Decreasing the number of stations and increasing speed decreases operating and maintenance costs. This is a great video which all members of government, transport planners, urban planners and even the general public should listen too.
Yeah adding wifi to busses is kinda an additional feature that doesn't change the ridership, while frequency and bus lanes help. Although wifi to long-distance journeys are more justified, like travelling on regional lines.
