The western world definitely has funerals backwards! We mourn when someone dies & rejoice when their born. It's definitely the other way around in Afrikan traditions I see. I love this! This is so dope!
Thanks so much for the comment. Yes, it's true that we call funerals in Nigeria a "celebration of life" and it's a proper sendoff. My mom lived to be 90 so she had a long life, and even though l was very sad here, I was happy she got sent off the right way.
