you're so cute. This was one of my very first albums (I am way older than you and your mom) and my brother ended up with my entire collection while I was in college.
Turned 24 in May, thank my dad every day for putting me on. I may be young, and the rest of my generation may not get it, but I'll always get down to p-funk 😌😌
I've been listening to George and Roger Troutman ever since i was a 5 year old in 05. I thank my father for bringing me into REAL and TRUE Funky music!!!!!
The Funkadelic Band make you wanna get FUNK UP!! With their funky sound!! George Clinton was a phenomenal band leader. His wisdom and knowledge of music was awesome mothership connections was one of his great masterpiece, Chocolate City and Atomic Dog was untimely hits Thanks brother George for sharing your incredible music with us !!! Brother Shack 😊😊
If only....))sigh(( the whole world 🌎 could dance to this song together (maybe have a cup of tea), everything would be OK ... for a while :/ #HopeSpringsEternal
Im a 30 yr old mixed man and this was bumping in the 90s too and still is and yes I know this is a 70s song. But I still love these guys I put them up there with James Brown , Rick James, Sly stone. earth wind and fire, the temptations, Jimi Hendrix, Kool and the Gang, Ohio Players, Curtis Mayfield, the Isley Brothers, Rufus & Chaka Khan, Bootsy Collins, The Brothers Johnson, Stevie Wonder, War, Prince , The Jackson's had some funk music too in the 70s. This 30 yr old knows what's up growing up black back in the days was fun. Especially since evertime we'd get together there'd be some kind of good African-American music doesn't matter what the genre was. Like it could be soul blues r&b funk hip hop jazz and even some rock music and country music. Because theirs black folks that make that kinda music too even back in the day. Like Charlie pride and Ray Charles for country music and you had Little Richard, Chuck Berry, bad Brains, living colour, Hootie & the Blowfish and Darius Rucker would end up doing country music later on in his career.
Gots to love the funk yess teach this generation about the funk. I'm 44 and can appreciate my mom and uncles for teaching me about the funk when I was a kid
I'm not white. I'm "off white" , you know , Sicilian / Italian. "Olive Skinned" n I'm a Professional Musician/Bassist n have been diggin' on these Dude's since the '70's n still diggin' on Em today. Just as "Thumptastic" now as they were back in the day. 🕶️🤙 , °): EADG 🔊💥🎶
@@jeffreymitchell241 Yeah, I tried too my friends called me an “Oldie” but I have no shame but I listen to earth, wind & fire, Rick James, the Whispers, and Ojays just to name a few!!!!
@@mrc302 ...I saw them in Columbia South Carolina! And Charlotte NC, the next week, that was George Clinton's. Welcome home show, the mother ship landed. And out stepped Doctor Funkin Stine. In a white fur coat. That show was wicked!!!
I am almost 63 years old and I am like you. This was also brought up to this Funk/Disco music - WOW! America was an amazing Country - everyone was so happy. People knew how to party!!!
My cousin had dances at his home every weekend. This is every ones favorite, and many more funkadelic music. Ahhh yes those were the great days. Bring back the old school tunes😃
Oh yeah I agree, I'm 17 and the funk has called to me😍 I play a mean bass and I really wanna create my own funk band just so we can give the world somethin to Funk about🎸🎷🎼🛸👾💕
This is my favorite Funk Jam ever...Can't seem to get enough of it...Bless You: George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, for this "Masterpiece of Dance music"...Many thanks for this feature, I appreciate!
*I remember dancing to to 15 minute version at the Johnson's 1 Groove parties* in their basement (the size of the entire 1st level), and they charged $4.00, and the whole building was grooving. No one called the police *because most of the neighborhood was there* , including the neighbors (they charged to park on their property🤭). No fights, No Alcohol, No Internet, No guns, No cell phones, and the girls waited until the guys asked *them* to dance. *We actually danced* 😁! *Those were the days* !
My all time favorite song!! When I was a kid, this song made everyone go crazy in the house parties me and my friends would go to! Just incredible. This song never gets old. It's all about that funk. Shout out to the incredible George Clinton!! Parliament Funkadelic forever!!
The first time I heard this was at the Funk Fest in Chicago when they did it live. That was so great! And yeah, this will still make me get up and dance. This is the serious real funk. Yes!
Just passing thur this was released 40 years ago i had this album somebody stole it .ps good job George for posting this sound good with no skip or scratch on it , i always had two just in cases ..ps cheers glasses up the best funk album of 1978. that right I said it✌ rip Bernie and Junie 🎵🎼🎶🎶🎼🎵🎤.
I don't know about here in the states. But in Germany (Oct 1977 - Jun 1980). I was in the Army and stationed there. This song rocked. Especially at The old "Plantation Club" in Frankfurt Germany. I also had the pleasure of seeing "The One Nation Under A Groove Tour" In Offenbach, Germany November 1978. Still too this day. The BEST CONCERT ( and I've been too some very good ones) I've ever been too til this day.
A girl fan inspired the name of the song... George took lead vocal and sampled Herbie Hancock ( feet don't fail me now) and the Delfonics ( ready or not...here we come) and Junie brought in a Pollard Syndrum which upon hearing inspired Prince to write '' when doves cry' and the rest is as they say funk history
Mantan Moreland (1902-1973) is ONE of the persons who spoke - " FEET Don't Fail Me Now" on film, in the 1940's , thanks Jon, for some background, Mr. Clinton was and is a genius
@@robertmuhammad236 After looking at yr profile yr the "angry" black man huh. Probably over 40 life didn't turn out like u thought it would. How does it feel to be miserable person
