This might be the first time I have paused a video to comment (a few times I’ve commented on yours and then searched back accordingly or just restarted entirely) because when I picked this video I could never have been prepared to get hit with with that first couple of seconds which I feel was THE closest comparison to being punched in the face with those comically oversized boxing gloves. Which is a remarkable experience I might add I requested that my close friend who is likely the most formidable fighter I have trained with. Now full disclosure; Although I’m associating it with the wow factor of your stupendous talent, I’m not saying try it because it feels like a warm hug.. it is remarkably uncomfortable. You can never know the unpredictability of the event through just a description. My first thought following the blow was that I may have preferred the regulation glove lol Anyway yeah that first couple seconds genuinely knocked me back into my seat. I kid you not if I was standing I would likely have lost my footing. You are the only factor in my decision to buy a used bass for 60 bucks and pull all the frets out because I saw you play ‘Psychedelic Clouds’ all those years ago when it was called Like.. ‘Experimental Fretless bass grooves with delay 2”… I think lol you happened to turn up in a nonprimus Les claypool playlist or something and I was like, *Mouth Open* .. I need to play like this! Which is awesome cuz I also jam with play along tracks by Quist and the like and sure enough you popped up in the upbeat power funk playlist and I was like challenge accepted! And I played EXACTLY what you played for like 6 seconds! But you do this like the whole neck slide with your right hand that when attempted over the frets would likely cause irreversible psychological harm to a small animal or infant.. So I’ve been driven to seek some form of certifiably Fretless bass of sorts (came thrice [ ] close to buying the 2 string Fretless cigar box on Amazon) so I can effectively practice playing like Remco Hendrix (a rather uncommon name that I have remembered since that very first time RU-vid suggested I hear you play! ahem.. thank you RU-vid..
