I've loved Green Day since "Dookie" came out. I'm one of those dudes that finds out about "underground releases", even if the rest of my class didn't. I remember buying "1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours" on CD in 1994. My dad was with me, I was shy, so he'd tell the clerk what I wanted. He asked for the Green Day album, and he replied "Dookie"? My dad said, we already have that one. So the man behind the counter recommended "1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours". Not "Kerplunk", which is weird, but "1,039..." made me the songwriter I am today. No one's heard of me, I'm willing to bet, but that album influenced me more than I can say.

The description of the audience having cleared out at Kobe’s beach bc tre lit his drumkit on fire reminds me of a show I played in queens at some terrible dive bar (& i love dives normally). There was no fire but we were playing and messing around having sunglasses on 😎 and there was this Italian guy that lived in Watertown who’d come down to see us play. He was running naked around in front of the stage and we all thought he was the only guy watching us so we were kinda entertained you know whatever 😂 but when the song ended i heard loud clapping from a bunch of people. Since we’d stopped playing I was able to remove my sunglasses so I could see and there were a bunch of ppl watching but they were way back off to the side of the bar. After our set, someone came up and told us they’d all moved back to get away from that guy bc “ if he’s running around butt baked you don’t know what he’s gonna do “ lol they were afraid 😱 😳 lol all I could think was what do you think he’s got a weapon or something? Where would he possibly have it hidden?! lol😂
