There was a staff meeting once and they were telling us about all these new rules we had to follow and this older nurse said why don’t you set us up for success instead of failure 😂😂😂
Hospice RN here... Man... I DO NOT wish nursing school back for any reason lol Just a shout out to ALL medical persons. Especially CNAs.. We couldn't do our job without you ❤️❤️❤️
Sue’s Home & Life That’s too funny! We used to hide our peroxide in our personal lockers. We discovered that they would go in our cabinets and cite us if it was expired, even though it wasn’t for patient use!-it was just for us to get blood out of our scrubs! We were supposed to keep drinks in our lounge/break room, but working ER & PACU, heck, we never saw the break room! Usually hidden someplace at the nurses’ desk under something or just inside the door to the area where our registrars/financial pple. sat-they were in a “no pt.” area. I had one doc literally throw a complete major hissy fit because I threw his coffee away! (I was told to by my boss because “those who shall not be named” 😂 were in the building!)
I am a nurse from Sweden. The no drinking or eating thing does not apply here. We always snack and drink at our desks, wouldn't survive withour it. I print a weekly meme for our work place, Love nursing memes 👌
Nurse Connie from Cleveland,Ohio 13 yr LPN half way thru accelerated bridge and working FT. 100% love and agree with the meme "explaining your work schedule to non-nursing friend" Only my nurse friends and family understand. Everyone else thinks I'm antisocial 😂😂😂😂
I am from Michigan and currently going into my senior year of nursing school!! I love watching your videos to unwind from long days of studying. Your rendition of nursing students after exams had me rolling!
I am not a nurse but I work in the medical center in administrative role for over 30+ years and my sister is a nurse practitioner and we carpool to work some days. She introduced me to your channel and I love it. She was talking to me about her work schedule just the other day, funny thing I got it but it took me forever to process it.
Work for the NHS in Nottingham, United Kingdom 🇬🇧 . Watched a few of your videos. I'm amazed that no matter what country where from, we are the same. Only nurses will understand.
So funny. The best is When your co worker ask questions at staff meetings. I also would prep everyone before staff meetings with “ Okay Guys No Questions Please, We want out of here”
Need to make a meme about Vacation requests ie getting approved for 9 days, except for the day right smack dab int he middle of the 9 days. My favorite one was when I requested 2 weeks and was told I can only have one week, but once I get to my destination they can see if they can give me the remaining 7 days I requested. HAHA. I tell you that nurses are truly treated poorly by management sometimes. There also has to be a meme on Nurses Week. I remember for nurses week we got a cheap plastic water cup with about 4 hard candies in it. Whoa gee thanks for appreciating nurses. Having said all that the best part about being a nurse is helping the patients. God bless all the nurses out their.
Watching from western Pennsylvania. I love the nurse memes. I love your positivity and how you absolutely nail nurse life. I’m curious how you ended up in Seattle after living in Florida.
Aloha! Honolulu, Hawaii! Nurse for 49 years! Been there, done that! Night shift, evening shift and 12 hour shift ! Love what you do, you know laughter is the best medicine!!❤
alliemo62 well I’m a full time student full time nurse full time Christian full time wife cook for my husband and take care of the household. Sooo people do it
@Blake You have WAYYY too much time on your hands! lol Remember how you mentioned nurses loving SLEEP? I’m sooo there! I can relate to a lot of these memes. I love having a set schedule, esp. working 12 hr. nights! And inevitably, Mom always calls when it’s my first day off in my stretch and I just fell asleep!
This is an incredible video, Nurse Blake! Thank you for making us laugh despite the difficult situations you faced as a nurse. Keep up the good work and stay safe!🙌
Texas checking in here, I went straight into the CV ICU after graduation. LOVE Code memes, first day on the floor walked into a code and my preceptor grabbed me and put me in the code to do compressions. Deer in the headlights MUCH!
been a nurse near 30 yrs and the truth masked in humor that you tell is soooo true in reality! actually, i think it's crazy that nurses take care of humans, but we're not supposed to be human, i.e. no drinks, no snacks......etc crazy night shift rules by the way
Teachers have weekly staff meetings and there’s always someone that asks a question that requires a university course to answer. I’ve literally cried at the 3 hour mark. I’m in California and we have the Earthquake club. It’s a group of teachers who want to talk about earthquake procedure during staff meetings every. single. week.
I was cracking up at the glove part. Ten years ago I had gullain barre syndrome (it is autoimmune response from an infection and it paralyzes you for about 6-12 months. I had the chair of the department, the attending, my brother “I’m a Dr from Johns Hopkins, name is Tim.” 😆, and my mom (the associate dean of the medical school) and a resident. I needed a spinal tap, and he had just said how easy it would be bc I’m very thin. He completely choked and missed 3 TIMES before chair took over and slid it 8n like butter. I felt so bad for the guy, and 8 was shaking and sweating thinking he would permanently paralyze me missing the tap!
Awesome video 10+! Memes and your channel (girl scouts' honor❤️) help me out of my nursing school meltdowns, etc. so thank you!!! Boston, MA loves loves loves Nurse Blake ❤️
I recently got accepted into nursing school after 3 1/2 long years of prereqs (you all know the struggle) and start in the fall! Yay! Although I haven’t experienced some of these memes yet, the way you explain them makes them that much better. 😂 I am a caregiver and went through CNA training though. The “putting on the gloves” meme I can definitely relate to. It’s even worse after putting on hand sanitizer!! It seems to only happen when you’re in a rush. Lol. Also, does anybody ever rip their glove over their watch? I don’t why, but this ALWAYS happens to me. Lol.
ok, now i know why all the nurses check on my IV, cause someone bragged! "can i just see your IV for a second?" I've always been super easy to get IV, didn't realise it was so difficult for nurses!
Medical memes are great😂 im currently a junior in high school and im attending a school that has a nursing program 😂 im in the program and i started yesterday. Me and my friends have made like a group chat so we can talk about nursing memes and share notes and stuff🌝
I’m literally the dumbest student when it comes to any science subject but here I am wishing I could be a nurse after your videos... Blake you need to take responsibility for giving me unreasonable dreams 😤
Blake, love your videos. Thank you for all your videos and lightening my day when it starts to go south. Might see ya at work. Working on the kaiser end of building. 😀
I’m born and raised in Seattle 🥰🤗 and I spent 5 weeks in the hospital in on First Hill, in late May and June 2023 with septic shock and respiratory failure from MRSA-pneumonia. I was on powerful immunosuppressant medication for rheumatoid arthritis. I got very lucky, I got dry gangrene on my hands and feet, my feet took the worst of the tissue and nerve damage, my hands are mostly numb at the thumbs, which messes with my grip strength. I’m not complaining, I only have one pinky toe I might lose, but my podiatrist wants to wait it out and see what it’s going to do, there still might be some viable tissue under the eschar, which is pretty thick and it just looks like it’s a dead toe. My team of doctors had to use 3 different pressors on me at once because my blood pressure was crashing that hard 😢 it doesn’t help that my normal blood pressure is on the low end at 90/60 , so you see why one reason they had to do this. They put me in a medical coma for 13 days and that wasn’t fun at all because they’d had me on a butt ton of ketamine and I’d never had it for such a long time period before, I’d had it for day surgeries, and I was trippin when they woke me up, I’d have these audio hallucinations like I could hear the ocean waves crashing over rocks, but it was just me trippin on the ketamine 😳 anyhooo, I’m in physical therapy to try to regain my stamina 😢and I’m going through PSS, post sepsis syndrome that my doctor is tracking. One of the worst things I’ve had to deal with post septic shock, is that sometimes it’s a terrifying idea to go to sleep, and sometimes I literally have no appetite, or just the general fear that it can happen again and I’m not going to be able to get back on RA meds for as long as there’s eschar on my toes. Sometimes I feel like Dory 🐠 “just keep swimming, just keep swimming…. 🎶 “
I'm so surprised by how few subscribers you have! I've been watching your videos on fb for quite a while. I love all of your videos! Thank you for the great nursing related content 😁
