I may come from a celtic family. But you can not hate this man. Football is football, we all have our rivals, but as a person he is brilliant. And I love him on commentary
Celtic fan here,,,i have a lot of time for Ally,,, he's a real fun guy when commentating on games. Doesn't hold back on any team playing badly. Including Rangers 👍
I used to work in a pub in West Nile St Glasgow when I was a student back in the late 80’s. ‘Super Swally’ used to come in once a week with a different young lady and order the most expensive wine on the list. He forever tried to chat up the female bar staff. They hated him for his sleazy attitude. When the young lady he was with went to the toilet he would drop little bits of paper into the hands of some of the mostly young female bar staffs’s hands and say “give us a call it’ll be worth your while”. He tried this on my girlfriend at the time who was actually visiting the pub with her pals. All 4 of them just laughed at him and he was pretty angry and complained to the boss to get them thrown out.
I've always liked McCoist, he's balanced when it comes to commentary and always seems fair in his appraisals. Kenny Miller could take a leaf outta his book, HH.
When I was in the Army I had big Gordon Brown (Broon frae Troon) as a guest speaker at a Sergeants Mess function, he asked me if I had asked anyone else and I said I was going to try Ally McCoist, big Broon laughed and told me McCoist would have accepted but would have forgot or slept in and miss the flight, he did it a lot for golf tournaments 😂😂

Did you manage to get upstate to play their world class golf courses ? An hour and a quarter drive from JFK to some of the classiest courses imaginable . Different class ....
I´m quite old now, and must admit I never used to like Ally McCoist. However, when we lost Tommy, my opinion of this man did a complete 180. I think he was more upset than many Tims.
