For the first highlight, why wouldn't you trade into the 3/3, and mind control the 8 drop from his deck? Way better value, and you don't run the risk of topdecking lich king. Also he could have no 8 drop, and you get to save a mind control for something that isn't a crappy 3/3

For the Kripp clip, it's actually only 1/764. He was always going to get a first card (whatever it may be) so the odds of getting the second card were just going to be the odds of picking that same card i.e. 1/764. If there was something special about that pair, like if only those two minions gave lethal, or if Kripp had predicted that he would get two of that card, it would be 1/764 for each so 1/583696. Since there is nothing special about picking thoe two cards, it's just 1/764 to get a duplicate. Still unlikely but not one in half a million or anything.

The math is off though. I mean for both cards being that exact Minion, it might be right. But it could have been any Minion, right? And in that Case the chances are obviously "only" 1/764.

I had to rewatch after 3 years. This has the best comeback in HS history IMO. Using the Vindicator Waltz as the sound track for it was fit it perfectly! Plus the Kripp piece at the end was pure comedy gold.

9:52 The chance is actually 1/764 since I gurantee you, Kripp would have reacted, no matter which minion he would get twice off of Astral Rift. Therefor there are 764 "get the same minion twice"-outcomes (one for each minion) and 1/764^2 total outcomes. That is a 764/764^2 = 1/764 chance of getting the same minion twice. If he had predicted which minion he would get twice, your math would check out though.

The chances of any duplicates is 1/number of minion) aka /764. This is because there are 764/583,696 to get two of the same card. If he had called ahead of time, what are the chances of getting specifically 2 gurubashi offerings it would then be 1/764*764 aka 1/583,696. Still rare but i figured i would be the nerd this time.

Well, kripp was counting this specific one. So he assumed there are 3 minions in the game and it's 1/9 for that specific one. Same calculations here only different numbers. And yes it's 1/764 for any pair.

@@WeebsDontDeserveLove Thank you, it bothers me that all of the math done just tries to inflate the numbers as much as possible. Sure, the odds of getting those two exact minions were one in 500k-ish, but the odds of every single outcome Astral Rift can give you are the same if you look at it that way (or twice as likely if you don't care about order). The numbers are more impressive if they aren't inflated, because they're still impressive but they're also not wrong.

Sure, you could argue there are like 5 minions that would be as bad, but even then, the odds are around 1/100,000. Getting 2 Groms is HELLA different than getting 2 Gurubashi Offering.

@@paulg7401 Not quite. The question for that turn is "What is the likelihood Dreadlord dies?" For him to die, he MUST be hit by all five bombs. If even one bomb hits another minion, he survives. So it is indeed 1/5^5.

1:00 in and I'm already like. But why tho. Sure, It can recruit your Lich King, but deck thinning isn't that important, you could have had a much bigger impact immediately by killing it and mindcontrolling his 8-drop.
