Funny baptism 

Sadly, Dr. Lineberger, the pastor who baptized me in this video, took his own life. He had been struggling with severe depression for quite some time. I will never forget what he meant to me. He was my first pastor. And obviously I will never forget him baptizing me, especially since it's now been immortalized on RU-vid. Please pray for his family. May he rest in peace.

He is so cute! They tried to baptize me when I was 5 years old, I was so scared that I started screaming and pulling away from the Pastor! I made my Mom come and get me out of the pool. LOL (I got baptized at age 12 when I had a full understanding! :-)

Oh my Lord!! This child is evidence that God is real and awesome. Even in a period that is serious and sacred he used this babe to bring joy. This really encouraged me and thank U for posting. Bless U in Jesus name.

I got baptized at seven because i was penticostal apostolic and told the deacon that I wasn't ready to be baptized but he told me that if didn't get baptized right at that moment I was going to go to hell when I die later. But then in 2004 when i was 14 and my parents and other family became baptist in late 2000 I asked my mother is it was alright for me to get baptized when i was 14 and she only said yes because I told her that I had a full understanding of what it meant to be baptized

a christening is a catholic form of baptism for babies, but other denominations such as assemblies of god ect has a baby dedication which is much different. baptism is after you get saved its a sign of washing your sins away, might i add its amazing!

you can still get baptized. Your infant baptism was not of your choice. You can now choose to do so, and dont let anyone tell you cant!

@mja3806 ah i think i understand. the memories i have were at a church in elmswell in england, which im fairly sure is a "church of england" church, not catholic or protestant. either way, what they did to me was nothing of my choice, i was too young to make the decision. my dad is what you could call (i guess) a casual christian, as in, he believes, but doesnt go to church. so it was probably his choice to do it.

@JeremyLinski You are correct man, but if you truly did accept Jesus as you Saviour, you will have the surge to read his word, do what he tells you to do through bible and then when you feel you are ready, you should get baptized. YOu cannot just live you life like that till the end, the holy spirit inspires you to get baptized. God Bless

Although it is true you have to be baptized inorder to go to heaven, i apologize for the way you were made to be. Saying that though, i have one question... when you were re baptized was it in the name of Jesus like the bible says or was it in the titles of Father Son and Holy Spirit. if it was in that way father son spirit, i encourage you to look at the only way the bible baptizesitisntthtwa

im an atheist, but i have very vague memories of being christened. can some please explain to me the difference between a baptism and a christening? its always confused me. thanks :)

Baptism doesn't save, only Jesus saves. Only the blood of Christ can wash our sins away, not some water. If you're trusting baptism to forgive your sins and save you, you need to trust Jesus!!

@Udany147 baptism does not have anything to do with weather or not you go to hell. The bible says that anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord,repents of their sin (turns away from wrongdoing) and eccepts Jesus Christ's death as their ransom (price paaid for sin) they shall be saved. If one does not except Christ then it is hell for him/her. getting baptized will not save you......only Christ's blood and death can save us,if we do not accept Christ's death then we do not accept God's greatest

What about him? Jesus was still alive when he spoke to him, and the new covenant was not in effect then. After his own resurrection is when Jesus said that whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. The thief on the cross was before that--so whatever Jesus promised to him doesn't make any difference to us who live on THIS side of Jesus's death.
