Met him once at Sundance film festival for Skelton Twins and literally gave him the most awkward handshake then could barely say anything I was so nervous. Was very awkward and im sure he's very used to it haha. Also saw Philip Seymour hoffman from affar not a month before he passed, sad.
@@S.Pociecha i dont think it's inherent that they think they're better than anyone.. i was just thinking it's the sheer volume of faces that they interact with..
@@marctouss1862, interesting. I'm pretty sure teachers, train conductors, waiters, flight attendants et al. routinely deal with similar numbers of people without us assuming anything about how memorable we might be to them.
You have a once in a lifetime opportunity to ask bill hader any 2 questions you like: "Do you remember meeting me?" "Did John Mulaney tell you about the time i shouted to him in the street?" ....really?
awe you can tell bill really appreciates his fans :) he did stefon for mckenzie, and he never does it when reporters or interviewers ask (for good reason, they always seem to want to dangle a treat in front of his face and say, dance for us! im always glad to see him say no or call out an interview question that makes him uncomfortable, because it really demonstrates establishing boundaries and personhood, and that hes not just an impersonation vending machine they can insert coins in and get whatever they want out of. anyway i dont remember what i started saying but i love bill and thank u for this video 😊
I think partially this is just sad. The woman demonstrated in front of an audience how she has a deep and parasocial relationship with bill and then even kept going after bill said the first time he doesn't remember her, so she's not even aware how parasocial it is
Considering that there have been a few cases where “fans” killed the celebrities they supposedly admired, most of the stars are astonishingly polite and friendly towards them when encountering them in public, even the more disturbing types, such as the Stefan (Stefon?) fan.
obsession with entertainers has always made me feel a little sad about humans and was one of my youngest realizations that people aren't as good as i'd hoped
@@lnfreeman ofc people will be panicked meeting someone they are a fan of i personally have been hyper fixated on bill for two years and he means a lot to me and helped me through some rlly hard times i’m a big fan and i would totally have an anxiety attack if i met him it’s normal to freak out meeting your idols i think (:
it’s normal to be starstruck when someone you like notices/answers you, even bill hader has his own heroes and was freaking out when he met his fav true crime narrator during a surprise interview!
People are OUT OF THEIR MIND to think a "celebrity" would remember having a 2 minute talk with them, friggin years prior...I mean it's unbelievable that the woman was actually serious about whether he remembered her....LOL, there would have to be something wrong with Bill if he indeed kept the memory of that random woman with him for so long. ya know? the guys whole life is meeting random people who claim to be his number one fan, I mean 1,000s of people or more a year id bet...wow...people are delusional. In work mode which exactly what it is when "celebs" meet fans, I could talk to someone for an hour, and forget their face the next day, it's nothing personal, but it takes brain cells to remember someone and the fact that I will most likely never see or talk to the person again, why would I, Bill or anyone remember the name or face of someone they met once?.
Like I like his work and think he's hilarious and when I'm sad I watch his stuff. But celebrities are just people. The freaking out about it is a little cringey to me
Afaik he is very socially anxious and uses comedy and playing roles to mask, which is pretty common with socially awkward/anxious people. Source: am socially awkward and constantly anxious as hell. But from what I know he’s respected by everyone he’s worked with in the business, down to camera people, make-up people etc. definitely has solid work ethics too. As for his private life, I wouldn’t know and frankly I don’t know why anyone would care.
