As an officer just out of fto I’m happy to hear this because it gave me the reassurance I was already telling myself about taking initiative when seeing something and acting. Especially after having a fuck up it can make you want to be in the background cause you feel like everyone’s judging you. I think not wanting to mess up and be that guy plays a big part for new officers. But to really learn you have to jump in especially for the officers that want to perfect the craft and grow and its good hearing some knowledgeable vets say exactly what I was telling myself. Thank yall

18y LE here. About the defense attorney thing... I actually APPRECIATE the defense attorneys. They keep me on the top of my game. Before I leave the scene, I try to think like an attorney and find those holes in my case then close them.
