Since I have retired, I have no need for an alarm clock or a smart watch or even a watch at all I have a sundial in my garden. When I wake up, I go out to the garden in my robe and slippers and touch my sundial. If it is warm to the touch, I go inside and put on a pot of coffee. If it is cold, wet, or I trip over the damn thing, it means that it is either snowing, raining,, or still dark. So I go inside, take off my robe and slippers, and go back to bed. Life is so much simpler now.
@@ferretfriend5458 Yep. If I knew retirement was this much fun I would have retired right after high school when i was still young enough to do the things I can't do no.
Today is 30 years since I retired ❤ I LOVE IT! As long as my brain is working , I can enjoy my 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren! Tomorrow I will celebrate my 87 birthday, feel so blessed, that I’m watching the family blossom and grow ! , Thank you Lord for the good life , Hello to my friends from N.T! ❤
My Dentist or should I say Denturist has cool reminder card. It has old couple in bed with dad looking over at the glass will his teeth in it. He says " I sure miss the good old days when my teeth and I used to sleep together". A chuckle for all those Still Booming Boomer!
Well here is my contrubution" We "Old People" do not grow old, we grow progressively younger. We started out fat, bald, toothless, cranky, incontinent, and overdue for a nap. Old age is just returning to our youthful selves.
True, I have used every one of those things at one time or another in my life time, I will be 71 in3 weeks. So it’s safe to say been there, done that!!!🤪😂🇨🇦🇨🇦🇬🇧😎
Hi, good evening 🕯🍷🕯 Thanks for sharing your video 👍👍 It confirms my thoughts: i'll go on until I am 120 years old, and than it's ok getting old. I retired quite a few years ago, after 35 years of working (It-branch), and still every day busy with a lot of things . Stay healthy and season greetings from a small village in the middle of the Netherlands, Wim 🚂
Since I've been retired. I make sure to watch the morning news. I turn the sound off though. I just watch the traffic report and all the traffic jams and laugh and laugh, and sip my coffee and laugh some more,
Ha! Ha! Thanks a lot, Bill. It's a great feeling to be out of the rat race and not have that awful daily commute. Long may it continue. Thanks again for watching and commenting.
@@MusicalPearls Especially when this rat still has his tail. I have another one fo you At this stage of my life I find that I have found something I have searched for all my life, equilibrium. Defined as one wife home, all kids gone, and a house with two bathrooms-equilibrium.
That was brilliant Bill. I just read out loud to my wife what you said and we had a great laugh as well. We've both been retired for 4 years and we certainly don't miss the drive to work.
@@delby66 I hope you were able to read all of my idiocies here. My daughters think that I should have gone to work for Mad Magazine. I told them that sometimes I wished that I had. But I was stupid and went ot law school instead.
My daughter posted on her page the other day that it's getting harder for her to parent her teenagers as well as her parents... she's got nerve after all the years we put into her...
Well Cheryl, I bask in the thought that my Social Security is based on the work of my children whom I taught to turn off those damn video games, learn something and get a decent job someday. I salute all the parents who said the same thing and the kids that begrudgedly listened. Thanks for my monthly check. Hope your kids do the same for you.
84 in a few days. Since I retired I've never been so busy. Volunteer at two charities every week, lots of gardening so jam and oreserve making with what I grow, plus giving excess crops to neighbours, many different craft projects and read, read, read every chance I get. Love it all. And I live without a computer or doing social media. Too busy for that rubbish.
I am so proud of you. I am going to be 67 soon and my body is betraying me for the last 1011 years. It’s hard for me to even walk anymore these days. I know we’re supposed to keep moving but everything hurts now issues. Asthma arthritis, etc. everything happened during Covid and made everything worse. I don’t have many friends anymore so I have to do everything by myself and it’s hard to get motivated to keep going. Thank you for everything you do and being a motivator.
Im now retired which means I no longer have to march off to work. Which means I no longer have to battle the commute traffic. Also I no longer have to suffer those stupid people I used to work with/for. ALSO I no longer have to suffer those stupid customers who think they are always right. WRONG! I can sleep late EVERYDAY. Everyday is like a Saturday for me. If I dont feel like doing anything, I dont have to. Seniors get discounts most EVERYWHERE. !
It’s actual put out by “Musical Pearls”! And it’s no cost to me! I appreciate what they’ve done to entertain me! Music or no music! Seriously…watch it or don’t, mute it if you don’t like the music. It’s negative comments like this that ruins it! There are too many “cupcakes” on RU-vid…I hope you’re not one!
I’ve read some of the comments! Perty well about the same as me! Life is short! Temporary! Enjoy each day as if your last! Faith, & family ! Wouldn’t it be cool to dance the night away!
I hate these vids. They assume we all get old forgetful, infirm & stupid. My old landlord was about 70, ran 5 km before breakfast, then lifted weights. A lady I met on a bus was 92 & using her mobile & tablet with ease. I'm 58 & studying a specialised degree at university - my 3rd one. I can still do pilates & yoga. I can still lift weights & swim 60 laps, though lack of time from a heavy study load prohibits that now. U don't have to get old fat & stupid - you do that to yourself. Don't assume we are all like this just cos we have grey or white hair, & a few wrinkles!
Sorry, Tasha, I understand your concern but I think you've misunderstood the message in the videos. I can assure you I'm not not trying to belittle older people. I'm actually 75 years old. I keep myself extremely fit and still work full time in the IT industry. I kniw all too well the negatve attitude people have towards the older generation so I'm trying to encourage them to laugh at life, enjoy every stage of it and embrace all the challenges it brings. Thank you for commenting and good luck with your studies.
The trouble with hitting 60 is that instead of counting upward you start counting down. So now (at 63) I have 3 years to my pension, 20 years of activity as I now know it and max 30 years left alive.
Another fabulous video Steve with a really outstanding original song as accompaniment. The song sounds like a reflection on real life, dreams and wonderful memories too. Another winner 🎉
I would put CB antennaes on my van to find it in Walmart parking lots but when I did that in 1972 everybody in America bought the same antennaes.Same thing when I painted my twin mini-whips red........who knew everybody liked red????
The quotes are funny. 😂😅 I agree with another post that even though we are getting older, we don't have to get OLD😊.I also agree that the background music in this video is distracting😒
Love it I like to add don’t be afraid enjoy life and be risky when you’re old you’ll be grateful you did have fun no matter what even if you had to sleep in your car I did for few hours and was not afraid I knew everything will be alright Later I owned my own business
Yup I agree, I did what I wanted, moved and lived overseas, then came home, I've had a ball don't regret a thing, even my 2 marriages. Live life like there is no tomorrow. Baby boomer 🎉
Fantastic video! Opened my eyes to these cartoons! Always loved Looney Tunes! Now I appreciate them more than ever!!! Thank you so much for opening EVERYONE'S EYES to the wonderful details of these timeless cartoons!!! God Bless!
Too funny!! 😅 Been retired 10 years and have enjoyed it thoroughly!! ❤ At first I would wake up scared I'd forgot to turn the alarm back on a heart monitor or unclamp a feeding tube to one of my babies!! But the nightmares stopped and I never had happen what I dreamed my entire 40 year career!! Thank you Lord!! 🙏🙏 I do miss the babies but have two four-legged kind that keep me busy and entertained!! 🐕🐈💕
Definition of Retirement: "You wake up with nothing to do, and go to bed with it only half done." I know I heard it somewhere else, but can't remember when or where.
Men when they get. Older , just become more sophisticated and. Their hair goes silver , women on the other hand according to my wife , get grumpier as they get older. , and just go grey haired , how sad , but our farts still stink , equally. , ,
I hate getting old always sime health issues and just plain terrible simple things harder to do feeling a burden to family member alway have dr app etc
I've retired 18 years ago, and some days I get up at 6:00 in the morning just to watch people driving past my house on their way to work ,when i see their grumpy faces I enjoy going back to bed thinking how lucky I am that my only duty is getting up at 9 to go to the gym.
The best thing about retirement is grocery shopping. No really ! Between the foods that I've outgrown and the food my doctors won't let me eat, shopping is quick, cheap, and I can recognize most of the songs.
These are all great and I’ll definitely be sharing the ones I can relate to with my family. They’ll laugh as much as I’m doing right now. Thank you for my nightly entertainment. ❤
Thank you, Deb. I'm a 75 year old singer/songwriter and yes, I have an older audience which I love. All my videos contain an original soundtrack that I've written, performed and recorded. That way, I don't break any copyright rules by using other peoples music illegally. Many thanks for watching. and commenting.
@@MusicalPearls Well, if it's original music, that's very different! I haven't listened to popular music since 1990, so I thought it had been a famous song. Yes, it's THAT good! Also, I'm very impressed that you make videos! I do for courses that I teach online, but most of us older people don't bother to learn the latest tech. This is very impressive, and I am so sorry I complained. I do love the quotes you included. Thank you for this video.
I am glad I retired, but I miss the music playing Indicating change of period in school running in 👠 in hallways. The students Laughing it brought joy.❤😊
I dont like jokes about getting older. It is not fun. Nor is it for the faint hearted. Like jokes about fat people, jokes about getting older are just not OK.
Sorry you feel like that and I appreciate your concern, but I think you've misunderstood the message in the video. I'm 75 years old and I'm certainly not making fun of anyone. I'm just trying to encourage people to laugh at life, enjoy every stage of it and embrace all the challenges it brings. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I guess we should laugh at ourselves, but not others. I'm no fan of Biden, but when people poke fun at him for his apparently age-related mental decline, they are essentially making fun of the elderly in general. That annoys me. It's disrespectful on so many levels.
