2:36 i'm pretty sure he did it by mistake, he had already turned his head by the time he hit the yellow card, but yeah he was pretty unluck there, it really did seem like he did on purpose! XD
@@ry-vn7eh It was because the players weren't needed for the next match. So instead of carrying their yellow card over to the next knockout phase, it was better to take a 2nd yellow card here and sit out the next match.
@@ry-vn7eh because cards in these leagues transition over to next matches. they had yellow cards so they dont want to get another yellow (then automatic red) in another important match. if they get red now, they will after a few matches be able to play again and then they have no yellow card now. they were 4-0 with 10 minutes left, no chance of losing and unimportant match, and the closest upcoming matches were also not the most important
The funniest red card I ever witnessed was in 2004, when after scoring the winning goal for Servette against Thun at the 89th minute Jorge Valdivia was sent off when he celebrated his goal by ripping off the corner post. Only time I saw a player that happy after receiving a red card.
2:30...that's not a red card at all. Referee reacted to it too quickly without thinking for a split second that he had moved the card down...Marcelo hadn't literally knocked it out of his hand, clearly an accident. The referee sending Madrid players off for time wasting though...we don't see enough of it at all.
The Madrid players deliberately took the red cards. At that point they led by an insane amount of goals vs Ajax Amsterdam. By taking 2 yellows at that moment, their yellow card count would have reset for the knockout phase (the one game they missed didn't count). It seems the practice is called "cleaning card".
Cannot BELIEVE the ref fell for it at 2:54! Yeah, he shouldn't have come up to someone so hot, but that was the silliest fall I've ever seen! He wasn't even touching him when he threw himself backwards! WTF!?!
@@funlovingvoyeurIf you like to extend your red card to 8+ games and the salary for them as a fine or lose your whole career because you get banned from FIFA to be able to play professional football in your life ever, take the opportunity for the kick.
The Gibbs red card is maybe the funniest thing I ever saw live in a match, holy shit that game was magical. Wegner's 1000th game and it was an absolute shitshow
I remember being at a City FA Cup game some years back when Aston Villa knocked us out. Was sat right at the front and saw Balotelli walking right in front of me....absolutely shite performance all night, everyone was getting frustrated, and in a childish little outburst I shouted "WAKE UP BALOTTELLI!" ...and he turned and gave me a death stare. Shat myself. Could have been a Cantona moment.
Yes but also, when the players are messing with you and there is no way for you to know which one is telling or acting the truth, you X both of them. Sending one players off of each team, even though one of those was unjustified is definitely better than taking a guess and sending only 1 off. What if you pick the liar?
I feel like the easiest way to get a red car is with an attitude, the referees are getting real bold with their ability to send players of the pitch in an instant.
I've no idea* what's going on, but the reactions are hilarious! *(maybe why gargle demanded extra security when I tried to sign in to a footie video for the first time...) I did a backward somersault "save" during a match with a local team, but the offside rule gets me everytime...hence, "defense..." Fun though!
Today I learned that keepers can get called for a handball if they're outside of the penalty box. Don't mind me, just an American trying to figure out stuff.
I’m American too and was trying to figure out wtf those red cards we’re about!! So thanks for explaining. I’ve only been watching soccer for a few years now so I’m still learning.
@@leimanaang The reason specifically that keeper got a red because he technically "denied" an obvious goal scoring opportunity. Usually a keeper hitting the ball with their hand outside of the box is fine, but because there was an attack on the goal and he stopped it, he was sent off.
yes Mouriño had some'management' of his own. Yes he made the difference from a sporting perspective, but what about his steps? He was the head and in the conference room all the same..... Jose mouriñino
The refferee being sent off when he showed the red card to Zlatan... just made me lose it, lol!! Zlatan is to Football what Chuck Norris is to... everything else
@1.45 to 2.11 mins I haven’t laugh that hard for a long time!!!! 😂😂😂😂 The innocent of his face and the camera angles was soooooo funny how his posture is filmed and then his reaction again in the end 😧😐😶😮 Just like a cartoon. XDDD
All the way to Taking the shirt off… half way through… opps remembering i took a yelllow card earlier. Shirt back on shirt back on… too late red card 😂
