I have three shar peis. The babies are super cute. The animals themselves are wonderful companions when trained well. Although, the mother's-to-be tend to suffer a lot in the whole pregnancy process. Just look at the holes in the mom's fur in the video. Their immune system drops greatly giving birth, and they develop a form of dermatitis. The mother of the puppies I have is one of my dogs and she lost almost half of her hair after giving birth. It was heartbreaking to see her. She recovered with some organic oil that a vet recommended (a teaspoon in her food), but it took months. I wouldn't ever put her through that again.
@@bruh-ItsTokyo My dam gave birth to four females. Two of them went to family and two stayed with me. And they are all spayed. As sad as I feel at knowing I won't have further connection to them after they are gone, I don't want to put them through that.
They have soo many problems bc of their hips and body weight, to also warn u that every time u go outside wether it’s raining or not u need to put sun cream in between their wrinkles or they will burn and probably die
@@heatherjones6790 Shar Peis are pretty muscular dogs, they're just wrinkly. If they retain the wrinkles on their bodies as adults, they may get chafing, but they won't die. All dogs, especially purebred dogs, have a hamartia. I'll be glad when we get to Heaven, and no one, whether human or animal, is sick anymore
When i bought a shar pei and I showed my grandma she said how old is that dog it look 146 years old and I was like it’s only two years old and my grandma said the vet must have fed her a truck because when i bought her she was pretty pudgy and heavy
They are not soft there skin are increibly tough but playing with there wrinkles is the best specially when you pinch together there skin on there back!
Depends on the coat. Hoarse coat is rough, scratchy, and secrete oil that can make some people break out in hives. Brush coats (the only kind we choose) usually have less wrinkles, but are like soft, squishy pillows.
I have a 5 Weeks old Black shar pei puppy and he has the Brachycephalic Airway Obstruction Syndrome and he cannot respire well But he s kind of ok he has only the snare siptomps So be Careful you guys ho want a shar pei puppy cuz they are Expose to this syndrome But they are a lovely breed😊😊😊😊
Hi brian, sharpei puppies got frequently misdiagnosed by vets who are not familiar with the breed. The difficult respiring and excessive snoring fades away on its own after a couple of months when they grow because not only their skin has wrinkles but also their trachea
