Well shit if you turned Fury Road off midway through then don't even bother wasting your money because Fury Road is the superior movie lol. Even still, Furiosa is still pretty damn good and Hemsworth carries it to glory. In my opinion
I think it’s general apathy these days for Hollywood. Trust is hard to earn again once it’s been broken and insulted. If I’m still curious of it, I will catch it on streaming.
Since you weren’t a fan of Fury Road (not sure if you have seen the others) it’s hard to say if you would like this one. That said this one is a completely different beast. It’s not a non stop action movie from beginning to end. This one focuses more on the world building and scope of the story and its characters. Really refreshing that he does something different with every movie in the franchise. I’d recommend it!
I loved Fury Road. But I not interested in a movie that doesn’t have Mad Max in it. Furiouso was a cool side character but Mad Max movies have been about MAD MAX. That’s like making a Pepper Potts movie. They make movies nobody really wants to see
its girlboss fatigue partly. There has been such a saturation of the strong female character and 'THE MESSAGE' that even the slightest amount of these tropes present in a film has just left people either apathetic or intolerant. It's a bit like drinking so much of a particular type of alcohol that you get alcohol poisoning and can no longer stand the smell or taste of that alcohol in any amount. Hollywood only has itself to blame.
I truly enjoyed this movie. My only complaints would be some of the shots of cgi were not sharp and the final battle to me could have been a little more action packed.
I watched the movie today and I thought it was awesome!, I give a 9 out of 10. The story was easy to fallow from the start to the end, great development on main characters, great action, good villain (he was evil), no boring spots during the movie. The Movie made sense, in other words it was not confusing. I loved it.
i think you hit the head on the nail when you said how it seems a little campy and slapstick, which is why i’m not interested in this one even though i loved Fury Road
