i'm currently learning it (i'm in 7th grade) i'm nervous i'm going to mess up (we have 7 trumpets but only 3 of us play and one of them can't not make their trumpet sound like a fart so if i mess up it be so noticeable)
It’s been a while since I was in beginning band (I’m a junior in high school marching band) but I remember not liking this song purely because we rested for like half the song
No just the trombone can do a gliss but if you put down the first and second valve’s on a baritone slowly to make that glissando effect it sound cool two
Yes, the parts do look easy, Trust me, I got a paper, thought it would be a piece of cake, To be honest, it's a little difficult, And even trying to get the Low Low notes right on point, And having to do a note thats atleast half a beat long, But, Just be used to the tempo, And all will go well!
Irina Kosovan our teacher is like a normal speed it’s not like fast nor slow but doing it fast just sounds wierd like ngl a little slower would sound better
Amazing I play clarinet and my school band is playing this in our spring concert so far it's my favorite piece and yes the clarinets are amazing in this video
Okay, I like this band director. He taught everyone to play pretty much perfectly, at the speed the song needed to be and you could hear everyone. Also he pointed out to the bass players of the song like the trombones and bass clarinet to play because if you play bass clarinet like me, you know it's a little difficult to play a low "A" Over and over again while counting and trying not to squeak. Well done 👍👌
Once a band member always a band member.. I played this song in middle school I'm 27 now... tell me why this song randomly popped into my head!!!? And yes my foot is tapping 😂 1st Chair Trumpet here. Even though I enjoyed very much being a trumpet player, My favorite part in this song was @ 1:28 when the trombones do their thing 😂. That was my JAM in middle school! I love that quarter, half, quarter quarter quarter notes at the end. Every section did their thing. Really great job :) all smiles over here! Brought tears to my eyes.
I just want to encourage you both to practice your scales as often as you can. Memorize as many as you can. The more time you dedicate to playing, the better you get. It's a muscle. You're bringing life to an instrument! The more the input, the greater the output! Also there is nothing wrong with friendly competition. The second part is just as equally important as the first. That is something I didn't understand before I joined the college band. The different chairs are responsible for their own part. Some harmony and different ad libs and solos etc... Basically I'm saying, whatever part you play, play it with pride. Be on every note and each dynamic "like white on rice". It just brings tears to my eyes how important band was/is to me.
jelly beans clarinets, flutes, and trumpets are amazing while saxophone and low brass and percussion were giving us the background music that fits in this whole piece together
@@AdamTaylor12 A beginner band? Having a French horn player? Seems totally correct, the instrument that You're hearing from the start to the end is an alto saxophone, e f sharp and g the e f sharp then a g f sharp.
seeing and hearing this brings me back a lot! I used to and still play clarinet! Seeing the kids tap their feet to the tempo, finally a band that has the tempo higher then 10.
lol it's so hard to hear us flutes! But I love my part in this song. I'm a third grader sitting front row chair advanced band member, 1st year flute. (It's rare to be in advanced band in 3rd) so I'm proud! Sorry to brag. My mom did the same at her band! Lol.
My 6th grade year we played this song with a bunch of different songs and we played at this tempo and this was our first year of band and I’m a trumpet that was my favorite song of that concert and the beat
im playing this song with clarinet its a struggle we had to go slow for practicing this song until my music teacher saw videos and noticed they were going faster than what we were doing
I am in the sixth grade band at my school and we are playing this song and we are beeper we do the dynamics and slurs my teacher said that we are not the average band and gave us an 8th grade piece of music and told us that if it was good we would play it our concert and if not we didn't get to and she said we did really good with the dynamics and slurs and note reading and this is super easy but fun
Oo I'm learning this song as well! I am a percussionist. I'm playing the bass drum in my band. Nice job guys owo Edit: you guys are playing it way faster than we do lol
Easy Maker i play alto sax, which i personally like better because it gets more melody parts in songs. i was thinking about switching to tenor or bari next year, but im sticking with alto :)
