You said it looked like that board was just replaced. If it's burning up boards like that you might have bad low voltage contactor coils at the condenser. Seen it many times.
You would think that after correcting the incoming power in the junction box that would be it,, but this wasnt the case. The board was the culprit. Possibly the incorrect wiring caused the board to go bad. Great video!

Same thing that happened to me. Two companies wanted $1000 to replace the board. It took me 15 min to find the problem and fix it. The 120 line in was reversed. I used a $5 tool to check the outlet polarity then looked online to figure out the configuration of the 3 prong cable. The ridgid side should always be neutral, the center is ground, and the smooth side hot. Sure enough the wires were reversed. Once I changed them around the board went back to normal operation and I saved myself some money.
@@MoreThanMaintenance just curious in my mobile home I have a electric furnace and a package ac unit and neither of them have a g wire because initially they both had separate thermostats but we had a problem with the thermostat for the ac unit so we ended up having both replaced with one heat cool combination thermostat so how does each system turn on it's blower motor without the G wire is it done internally somehow in each system
The control board in my furnace is 20 years old. Should this be changed out as a preventative measure when the board is this age? Why do the boards typically go bad?
Have you ever seen a furnace throw this code but operate perfectly fine? Mine is giving me a rapid red flash and says “twinning or 24v polarity” error but everything seems to work like it should...
I have 10 year old Burnham Alpine 080 and my LCD burnt out. It should receive 5V but the voltage on the harness shows around 32V. The voltage on transformer is 24V. The boiler keeps working but we are flying blind. I did replace the control board (pricey) and the LCD (pricey). The LCD lasted few seconds and burnt out. Where is the problem? Can you point me in the right direction? Link, so I can read more about it? Any suggestions are appreciated
Wondering if you can help? Watched this entire video but am confused as to why this is happening? Our furnace has worked fine all winter long, we went on vacation for 11 days in early March and turned the heat down to 55 degrees. We came home and the house was at 55 degrees as expected, I bumped the thermostat up to 68 where we normally keep it. The furnace kicked in but was struggling to run correctly for the next few days although we did have heat. It wold cool down in the house far below the set 68 degrees and then would kick in and heat. We noticed it operating randomly and inconsistently at best. The control board is indicating with 9 red flashes that it is a "polarity or grounding fault" we have not touched anything inside the furnace. This is a Luxaire LX furnace that was installed about 8 years ago and has already had 2 control boards replaced as well as a blower motor, is there something that is causing these parts to go bad so frequently without any explanation? And to make things worse the technician who installed the furnace failed to file the warranty paper work on our behalf so we don't have the 10 year warranty like we are supposed to even though I have all the documentation and paperwork on the install. As I am typing this and standing by the furnace, all of a sudden it started up, the burners fired up and it's acting normal for the moment, we'll see how long this cycle lasts. Any ideas what the heck is going on or where to start? Thank you for your time, jim
