there is a mall thats mostly abandond in Jacksonville florida. A small con was held in a space where a jcpenny was... there was a black mold issue.. I cant speak for every mall but sometimes u cant see the issues :( once most stores go out more space isnt taken care of very well.
@@troistheotter there would be so much maintenance. Technically you could convert each store front (or multiple) into an apartment. The food court would make a great dining area and big tv.
Guess what. That actually happened to me! On the last day Stratford mall was open, I saw a blue furry walking around talking with some guy (im not even joking) and I got to take a photo with him! It was super cool
I understand why malls stores are closing everywhere nowadays. I once asked a store owner who was moving out of a mall, as to why they were leaving, and they said it was due to the fact that the mall rent prices had become extremely expensive recently, and that most of the businesses can't afford their rent anymore now. :(
I remember being born in the 90’s and as a kid especially at the mall to see Santa with my parents and sister, the mall was extremely packed with stores and people doing their shopping and in the food court! I miss the old days! Online shopping is taking out the fun of actually leaving the house to go shopping!
@@troistheotter Me too, not everyone wants to buy and do everything online all the time, if possible to go out. :( And with malls you can go shopping with friends and stuff and group hangouts or furmeets. Can't do that any other stores really, it's just not as cool. And they always had everything cool in malls, arcades, pet store, lots of different choices of food. I haven't been since i was a kid. I miss it.
In the 00s that was the mall me my friend would go to all the time. Slowly all the major store started leaving and then it was all gone. So many good memories in that mall.

I'm just a simple fat furry wolfdog living in Kentucky, usually playing games on my computer, or talking to the only friends I have which is online cuz I only have my permit, got fired from my job, and can't afford a car and don't have one so I can't go out and make in person friends. that's a reason I comment so many silly and loving comments to people and their things online because I just wanna be a friendly lovable person.
@@troistheotter aw thanks. yeah I've looked on barq, love the place but sadly the only furs around here where I live aren't really wanting to hang around a just graduated 18 year old. and sadly most of my high school classmates are just lame old high school crazy boys jocks sports freaks and straight up maniacs.

Hey, I used to go to that mall with friends! I didn’t know it was still open to the public, and I’m still not that far from it. Also, just noticed the green hyena in the video is a suit sibling! Was this recorded a few months ago? I ask because I just looked it up, and...well, this mall was closed in April 2024. And the video went up in July 2024.
lots of abandoned/closed malls still have lights on. but this mall seems to be closing very soon, with all the stores shuttered but still allowing people to walk around for the last time in it.
@@troistheotter my motto is that you should make every excuse to wear your fursuit, it's either going to degrade in a closet or you out having fun. Rather be a fluffy animal when i can.
