I'm no psychologist. But from this I understood it could mean: A) he is scared of looking into Usyk because he knows he is in grave danger of losing the match. So he holds on to the comfort tells himself the guy is nothing and dissipates nervous energy by dancing, glancing around and adjusting his hat. Trying to puncture his confidence as if to tell him "you don't matter". OR B)He has evil intentions in the ring and does not want to feel compassion. If he locks eyes he will see a man with a family and a cause just like him, and wouldn't want to hurt him

Do not judge a boxer by his eyes. Everyone is nervous before the gong signals the fight, and then all fear is gone until you start feeling that the opponent is better than you. I used to step in the ring, I know; even Tyson admitted being scared to death, but it's nothing; the skills, the stamina, the reflexes, the reaction time, the strategy, etc., will make the fight. Many winners avoided looking in the eyes and ... beat the opponent. Usik is highly skilled, but Tyson will rule; he is smarter.
