Same here. 🤣🤣 Kit came with the truck. Previous owner procrastinated, and so did I for a year. But I had a friend recently melt a fuse and said it’s about time. Got it done in no time but it was a pain in the butt for my vertically challenged ass.

Very true. Once you open up the fuse box, it’s an obvious miss just based on the cable gauge.

Yeah, this is a obvious defect from ford. Makes no sense to me why they did not take care of it as part of a recall.

when I say semi melted... I mean it melted one side of the fuse and no damage in the electrical box.

Yeah most catch it at semi melted. Truck stops working and when you check the fuses they find it melted. But in rare situations it keeps melting and causes some major damage and I wanted to avoid it. I also put this off forever because of how much of a pain it is to do.

Interesting idea. Would be better than an add a circuit for sure. Damn. Wish I would have though about it. But electrical stuff always scares me so I tend to put it off. May have to do it in the future.

@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad the beauty about these fuse boxes is the main bus bar is connected to all of the J-Case slots and most of the micro fuse slots. All you need are the "pigtail" wires just like in the FoMoCo Relo kit to activate every unused J-Case slots. The cheapest way I found to get J-case pigtail with the proper spades is to go to a wrench-a-part wrecking yard and cut out and unbolt the same fuse boxes from these generation trucks of F150s and some Expeditions. Once you are home, using a needle pick, it's very easy to pick out every fuse connector to get a wide variety of colored wired fuse connectors. I've done it and have connector pigtails for J-Cases, micro fuses, and all of the relays I intend to activate the unused "Bosch" style relay slot since it is a universal relay design and build a 30Amp circuit (This is the relay slot which would be used if you have the 3.5 Exoboost engine, which our trucks obviously don't because they are the 6.2L SVT)

I had the kit and everything and said I would do it but procrastinate forever because I knew it was a tedious job. But a friend had the issue recently and had a nice little reminder that I should do it before something happens

With the right pin puller tool you can. Most dont have those and you have to cut the cable anyways because the pin for the larger fuse is bigger too. So it’s just easier to cut

Same here. It’s not that bad to do. Just a pain and some weird positioning around the truck.

We said it in the video, it was a 12 guage I think and you can’t miss it. It’s the thickest blue and red wire in that center bank.

That’s an add a circuit I used to power my intercooler pump for the supercharger. The Roush way of tapping into power was not working and just killing my battery

Not sure. I do know the kit is for the whole f150 platform from 2010 to 2014. Take a look at your fuse box and see if fuse 27 is in the same location and the same size. If so, I would definitely do it.

I used standard silver solder. No need to get fancy hear honestly. It’s not a circuit board and the solder is just there to keep things cleaner. Most kits even already come pre dipped in solder too

It’s probably been happening for a while. Had a friend just check theirs and the fuse was partially melted. Still worked but on the brink of failure. And if it fails wrong, the whole truck can burn down
