Fushigi Ball Explained

What I am doing is called Contact Juggling. Contact Jugglin is an established art form that has been around for decades. In recent months a company has started marketing its own Contact Juggling spheres called FUSHIGI Balls. FUSHIGI balls will not perform magic on their own, it takes a learned set of skills and techniques to make these balls seem to float as they do. This can be done with any Contact Juggling ball. Contact Juggling can be picked up and enjoyed right away but it takes years to truly master. If you want to learn I strongly recommend starting Contact Juggling with a 100mm stage ball. The Fushigi is not a good choice for beginners and most contact jugglers choose not to use a Fushigi ball at all

That's pretty amazing. And I pretty much adore you for bringing up the Labyrinth. I've always admired that skill since I saw that movie. I almost wish David Bowie was the one that was doing the juggling though; it'd make him that much cooler in my eyes. xD

I knew that there was nothing to the Fushigi Ball It just looks cool and they get you to buy it so you can find out if it REALLY works. Like a Yoyo. You see the tricks, buy it, and find out that it's all in skill, not in they actually instrument.

@RefuseToDrop I was in the commercial so I've had one for a while ;), supposedly its taking about 3-4 weeks to get a fushigi ball when you order.

Lacrosse balls are excellent for training indoors. They're cheap, have some weight to them, and don't make an earth shattering sound on hardwood floors. Not as great for isolation moves, though.

Great job. Explaining this ball. Because their are lots of kids that are making their parents crazy,like mine wanitng to have this item for Xmas,so I will show my kid this video so she know that is not actual a floating ball, that you have to put the effort and skills to make it work, which they don't of course, explain to you on TV because of waiting people actually buy the item. @SpongeDude8 They will not just break. The outside is made of acrylic, a very hard plastic. You should not do this over cement or tile because you will end up scratching the ball and ruining some of the illusion. I recommend over carpet or grass to practice.

@alazaromari I dont think its a rip off at all personally. Any acrylic CJ ball will cost you at the very lease $20 and they dont come with a DVD. Its for those who want to learn.

@ltkEsoterik There is pretty much an unlimited amount to learn. The DVD fushigi teaches comes with a lot of moves for beginners and there are tutorials here all over youtube. Just search contact juggling and see there is infinite variety and possibilities in contact juggling.

Lol, so many haters on the fushigi ball...they aren't cheating you guys. Yea, you can do it with any ball, but the fushigi ball is designed to help the illusion, it has a metal ball inside of an acrylic ball,with a softball it wouldn't look as cool, plus the acrylic helps the user do the tricks because of it's smooth surface.

So this thing is a shiny metal ball in the middle of a clear sphere? Since it reflects what is outside it back to the viewer, it is impossible (if the ball is clean) to tell when the ball is rotating and the clear edge gives it a levitating appearance. Are they heavy and solid? I have a set of two Chinese metal balls that make chime sounds when I roll them around. It is actually kind of relaxing and I'm going to check these out when they make it to the stores (Walmart).

How do you do a palm spin? I just got a fushigi since it was only 5 dollars I have been learning the butterfly and got it down pretty well but I feel my cradle sucks, and I can't get it down in my left hand. I got the isolations down. I really want to learn that trick at 0:16 to 20 seconds.

i can understand getting into contact juggling as a hobby or what not but why spend $20 on a ball that is no different then just a normal one? Which brings me to the point I guess its the appearence that counts more than the skill. Btw keep it up vampire :P
