Thanks for the update. It took me a while to realise that this doesn't work if you have converted the mesh to a solid body. If you had clicked the "Line" button next to "Fit Curve Type", in the "Fit Curves To Mesh Section" dialog box, I think you would have got a more accurate result. I'm sure there is an easier way of doing this though, by using "Inspect > Section Analysis", and then creating a sketch from that, which automatically traces the outline perfectly, but I'm still trying to figure that out. I've used that method once before, but I can't remember exactly how, and I can't get it to work anymore. The search continues... :)

This function (Fit Curves to Mesh Section) is accurate in the Personal Use version of Fusion 360 sadly. It creates curves where straight lines should be.
