When it comes to this CAD stuff I'm worse than ignorant but every time I watch your videos about Fusion you give me hope that one day soon I'm going to take the plunge and get the software ride the new wave! Excellent video John, thank you for all you do to enlighten us old guys.
My viewing timeline: McMaster is awesome, Why, What, OH, OH HELL that's smart, Find Features - mind blown! There is always something neat about watching someone else do something you think you already know how to do, thank you!
Great video. I am fairly new to Fusion 360 but I was easily able to follow what you were doing. I really appreciate you showing the all the steps. Very helpful.
Love the revolve feature, but why are you using (and calculating) the radius of a circle when the diameter dimension is given in the McMaster part drawing? Why don't right mouse button and select "Diameter Dimension" in the sketch?
I almost all ways use use revolve for lathe parts but I feel the second method would be better for that part, if you included the split and the profile of the bolt hole in the first sketch.
Hi, Do you offer CNC training from 'Novice to master'? Is there a career for petite[I say this as I am not big and not muscular] older women in CNC? If training is available, how long is the training and how much does it cost? And where in NYC are you based. Do forgive me if my questions are stupid. Thanks
Yikes!...I am trying to design a 2 piece part...knowing you could complete it in 5 minutes... I now have hours without success...lol....old dog trying to learn
Clicked this video out of curiosity, and I can agree on the way it is done, I would've done it mostly the same way. Only I use Inventor and not Fusion.
Do you know what the groove in the one face is for? It represents the side that was faced in the same set-up as the when the bore was created, thereby insuring squareness of the face to bore. Got that straight from Stafford salesman. www.staffordmfg.com/shaft-collars/
