A scintillating new kiwi designed Americas Cup 40 chase boat hit the water in Auckland this week. Built by Fusion Marine Boat Builders in Silverdale it showed its paces before being packed up and shipped to its new Swedish owners.
Boating New Zealand captured the new Bakewell-White designed craft going through its paces on the sparkling Waitematā Harbour. A stepped hull design, powered by twin Yamaha 300 hp outboard motors this new crafts sleek lines exude performance. And performance there is - topping out at 55.2 knots or 102 km/hr.
Built to specifically service the AC40 fleet in the upcoming youth and women’s regattas the craft is built to some exacting requirements. Great to see a new New Zealand designed and built craft exported to Europe.
