@@Dino-pk5hclols, bakit di nyo ask LGU nyo if feasible ang big tickets sa area nyo and if sustainable yung project (ibig sabihin kikita ang line less reliant sa subsidies, or ready ba ang market or economy of scale) if a city is as big as cebu city, davao city, et al na may malaking per capita income or tax revenues.) easy to say but it will be hard to implement if not feasible.
Presto malinis at maganda tingnan. Gaya sa Davao city.
why on earth would you remove jeepneys and tricycles? they are literally essential part of our public transportation... more people would be tempted to buy their own car since they can't ride aything to their work and such. which is not what we want.
Thats a bug question, these are novel gadgetbahn systems that arent so proven and you are locked to that OEM for future expansion, supply parts and maintenance. Cities will be forced and cost more in the long run, while struggling to keep up with demand and increase capacity. Better build tram/light rail with dedicated lane with some elevated portion if you need something cheaper for small cities. And still car far more passengers than any of these systems. Baguio better build a monorail since it has at least an advantage to be train-like and capable of steeper grade and tighter turning radius than light rail. Though still I dont recommend monorails on bigger cities like Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao or anything are on flat lands, since monorails dont have much sense on those and you will need higher capacity and faster trains on big cities.
@@kornkernel2232 yes. This futran system seems like it will be viable only if the purpose is for tourist sightseeing or something like that but if the goal is mass transit system, rail is still king.
@@alakdana8099 I can see Maglev as the future and next step of mass transport especially for high speed trains. However, without the discovery of a near or room temp superconductor that can be manufactured en masse relatively cheap, we will not see a massive adoption of Maglevs since it is too expensive given current technology. For metro trains where the max speed is like 80-100 kph, you don't need maglev. There have been reports of incorporating maglev tech using permanent magnets for metro trains though, but I'm not sure what's their advantage over regular conventional train wheels. My best guess is since maglev has less moving parts as its motion and levitation is contingent on manipulating the magnets, it will be cheaper in the long run since it has less maintenance costs. Being cool as fuck and futuristic also add to the appeal lol.
Improving public transportation infrastructure not only improves accessibility within the city, but also demonstrates strong leadership that cares about its residents' well-being. Such proactive steps increase the city's allure to investors, who see the potential for expansion and development enabled by efficient transit networks. Cities with leaders who prioritize personal wealth, on the other hand, frequently overlook public welfare, eroding investor trust and impeding overall progress.
This to me is the classic example of drawing project. There's not much people there in Isabela and not much commercial establishment. Whose gonna ride that when they can ride tricycle?
Mas OK Yan Kung Pati métro Manila malagyan fin.
@@hirayamanawari3583Metro Manila is a huge city. I don't see how there wouldn't be any space for transit. can't build aboveground? build it underground. as simple as that.
I can see why pods are so attractive to people. but come on. pods are worst thing if you're going for efficiency and capacity. hell, jeepneys have more capacity than those pods. a good public transportation network is the solution. not those pods. pods are never the solution to traffic.
Pods are the worst thing you can use for an efficient public transportation. just use trains. trains have a high capacity, reliable, and efficient. remember folks, just because it looks futuristic doesnt mean its a good thing. a good public transportation system is always the solution.
Agree. The capacity is that of a passenger jeepney which puts into question if this system is a legit mass transport system with such low capacity ridership. They should review their feasibility studies, if they have one. This will be a financial headache to the LGUs if they will eventually subsidize this.
I agree. Sure, maybe may appeal for tourism ang podcar na ganyan, pero when our main problem talaga is efficient transport dito, dapat focus natin muna ay ang most efficient and tested mass transit methods. If hindi bus, edi dapat train talaga muna.
Yep, this is inefficient on the long run. There is a reason why very few built these. This is more of gadgetbahn than a proper solution for efficient transportation. This is being pushed because it's is cheaper to build, looks fancy and unique and all papopgi points. Monorail similar to Tokyo is far better, and monorails arent even the best either but at least it is still a train somehow which has far more capacity than linked pods. I think why this is being pushed due to companies presenting this of course and government officials dont know anything better, considering most cities and regions in the Philippines dont have any competent transport agencies and urban planners to do proper research about best transport to implement. Traditional trains were still relevant for a reason even though it is a few centuries old. It just works, universal, and super efficient. It is already environmentally friendly if you use electric trains. Heck, even diesel trains are still "cleaner" since you mostly need just 1 locomotive to pull multiple cars, or have DMU trains that have smaller engines for each car but able to drive the train faster.
@@kornkernel2232 I agree. I also have gripes with monorails given that they aren't some catch-all solution, and traditional metro-style trains are still a much more fitting solution for dense urban landscapes with a decent amount of flat land (as compared to places where overground rail must traverse steep gradients where other technologies might be more fitting). However, I'd much prefer that they get the funding for a monorail project, even if it's more flashy than practical, because it's at the very least still a functional and 'upgradeable' system that can carry a decent amount of passengers, and maintain a decent amount of reliability. Basta wag podcar porke 'cool', honestly. Edit: Pero yeah, it's honestly surprising that going with traditional trains isn't a no-brainer for us. We already have light rail and we've had hundreds of kilometers of long-haul train transport over the century(ies). I guess we're kind of similar to the USA in a way, in the sense that we're still undeveloped enough in terms of our (as in, our government) understanding of rail and thus flashy projects have the ability to gain public favor despite being super non-optimal, despite us having past experience with rail. We have to really be practical sa large projects like these, because each cent spent on a vanity project is one not spent moving Filipinos more effectively.
Hindi sakop ng NEDA yan. Diskarte ng city government yan. Autonomous sila dahil may sariling charter. Kaso dapat maghinay-hinay ang city government dito. Siguraduhin nila na financially sustainable ito or else, malugi sila.
Pods are inefficient vs trains. Also the amount of energy needed to cool the glass bubble is ridiculous in such a hot country. Stick with what works- trains.
