The Noguchi Museum and FUTURA2000 announce two limited edition series of Akari 1A light sculptures and Akari prints hand-painted by Futura in 2021. The Museum is grateful to continue a collaboration which began with the 2020 exhibition ‘Futura Akari.’
The series of 25 Akari 1A light sculptures with surface designs by Isamu Noguchi - screenprinted in yellow, orange, red, green, and grey colorways - features spray-painted hand embellishments by FUTURA2000.
Also offered is a monoprint edition of 99 hand paintings on screenprints of surface designs for the Akari 1A. The Akari prints are screenprinted in Japan on washi paper. Each print features hand-painted elements by FUTURA2000 and his signature.
Each lamp and print is unique. Proceeds from this sale directly support The Noguchi Museum and its programming. The two limited edition series will be available for purchase at: noguchi.org/futura-akari-limited-editions
