I always thought of Terra Nova as 'Terra Mystica Lite' ... I'm actually surprised you would do a deep dive into that game instead of, say, "TM: Age of Innovation".
@@Coyotek4 I hated Age if innovation hah. I found it too loose and uninteresting. Terra nova is laser focused and very interactive, while being incredibly fast. I'm liking it more and more
Welcome back and congrats to becoming a father! Personally I would love content about your approach to board game development. Still in love with Boonlake Artifacts - and would love to see some content especially about earlier ideas that didnt make it. We are probably 350+ games into Boonlake and built our own fan-expansion - would love to send it to you or even play it sometime with you! The post game discussions sounds also lovely and I would certainly enjoy playtesting for/ with you and Alex.
@@JP-yj5rb Hey thanks for the kind words! And that's a crazy number amount of Boonlake you've had, now your group has surpassed mine I think! At some point I'm going to set up a discord server, either for everything related to upurplay or for new games I'm making specifically. Stay tuned, I'm going to be happy to welcome you to the playtesting!
Just found your channel (alongside finding Architects of West Kingdom, a bit late in my Boardgame Journey :D). Glad to find you !!! Great contect for the Architects ! Wish you luck in the journey ahead! *P.S. I do not write comments too often (btw), writing this one just to cheer you! :D GL HF!
@@julianabernethy2202 yep I tried it and I'm still playing it! I haven't planned anything...yet! But let's see if I can get sucked into it as I was from the physical version hehe
Welcome back, looking forward to your future videos. I love that making videos, and being great at breaking games, got you into the design space, and especially with the great designer Pfister. I would love to hear your thoughts on GWT: NZ because it seems to be many people's favorite version of GWT (I still think Argentina is the best, but that's because I suck at it the most lol) I too am looking forward to Shackleton and SETI, and hoping you won't succeed in breaking them.
@@Frostation hey thanks for the kind words! Yeah the world of design is a bit different, but it's a very interesting one nonetheless. I also hope both SETI and Shackleton will survive the breaking process hehe
@@maximkolbasov612 thanks, it's refreshing to see people are still into my content after a year of almost nothing :) a new video will be ready tomorrow!
Man I love your content, i hope you will post new videos about Barrage and Nucleum especially, i read all your bgg strategy posts and videos and i am super curious about how your thoughts changed since then. I wish you success for your game designs, and i hope you will design something with Simone Luciani one day :)
Hey mate ! It was terribly disappointing when you abandoned the games you were doing card reviews etc for, but !only because the quality of the content you produced was so good and there's nothing really like it elsewhere. I would make a recommendation for a great game that you can play in person in under 20 mins. I don't think much of the Century series in terms of depth, but there's an exception. The stand alone expansion New World is a great twist that really tickles the strategy bone with enough interactivity to avoid solitaire feels.
Hey hey! Thansk for the compliment? :) I don't own any of the Century series, I see that on BGA there's one. Do you recommend it? I might check it out, even though expansion often don't get ported to BGA
@@UpUrPlay no, the one on BGA is an older one. They seem to be simplistic transaction games like Splendor, and were uninteresting to a euro gamer like me. Century New World however has this sweet worker placement mechanic like Architects where you can go to a space already occupied by an opponent, but that means you give your opponent their workers back if you take their space, which is a huge benefit. This creates a lot of interaction and tough decisions.
