Join Futureport '82 and Seabase Alpha '86 for our release of The Living Seas! Joined by major contributors to the project, we'll walk through the whole pavilion, talking about its history and development.
This is an absolute gift to all of us and is so meticulous. My memories have been sparked. A perfect preservation illustrating the "educational" nature of these early pavilions, including universe of energy. Thank you
As someone who experienced the original The Living Seas (1986-2005) many times, I can tell you this is truly AMAZING work, so faithful to what it felt like to visit! 💖 I would love for you to get Tim Delaney on to do a live commentary, as you walk through the virtual pavilion.
46:40 I recall that there wasn’t an omnimover in the original version and you would actually walk through the aquarium hallway. Not sure if that was during an early preview or if it was changed.
I also remember walking through the observation tank tunnel. There must’ve been a period where the seacabs were under refurbishment, but it definitely opened with them present. Come to think of it, it may have been in the period they covered the scoops in front and added the handrail…
@@spence2015 There is also another section in Seabase Alpha where you wk through an aquarium tunnel to a circular section. I think this is what everyone is remembering.
@@shahrammaleki4532 hi. I’m the Spencer in the video that modeled most of SBA for Futureport. I’ve researched this pavilion for 4 years, inside and out. I remember walking on the risers that were covering the ride track, thinking it was strange. Very possibly between 1996 and 1998 the ride vehicles were absent for a short period.
This whole project is fantastic, well done! Quick question though- at 1:35:00 you mention that Jason wasn't voiced by Frank Welker, but I can't seem to find a source that doesn't say Frank Welker unless I add Ethan Phillips to the search. Is there official confirmation on Phillips as Jason? To me it 100% sounds like Frank Welker so I'm really confused haha EDIT: Looks like the fact that both actors voiced characters with similar names in the same room while having similar voices to each other has caused the internet confusion over the years!
